Claims

Abstract

There is disclosed a method of constructing a building, comprising installing: a wall structure of the building, the wall structure comprising a panel having opposed skins and a core within which extends at least one cavity: and a ceiling structure of the building, such that the ceiling structure is adjacent the wall structure, and the wall structure bounds a space at a side of the space and the ceiling structure bounds the space at a top of the space, and such that: the space is sheltered and/or isolated from the elements; and/or lock-up is attained in respect of said space, the method further comprising: thereafter installing at least one service line through at least one said cavity of said panel and/or installing at least one service line which comprises at least one said cavity of that panel; and thereafter installing a roof structure of the building over the ceiling structure, wherein a connector is secured between the wall structure and the ceiling structure to form therebetween a connection which is such that the connector engages both the ceiling structure and at least one of the skins so as to direct, to the skin(s) engaged thereby, loading exerted by the ceiling structure, and wherein said at least one said cavity is accessed through said connector and/or through said ceiling structure, to install the service lines(s).

         108 . A method of constructing a building, the method comprising:
 installing a wall structure of the building, the wall structure comprising a panel having opposed skins and a core within which extends at least one cavity and a ceiling structure of the building, such that the ceiling structure is adjacent the wall structure, and the wall structure bounds a space at a side of the space and the ceiling structure bounds the space at a top of the space, and such that the space is sheltered and/or isolated from the elements; and/or lock-up is attained in respect of said space,   installing at least one service line through said at least one cavity of said panel and/or installing at least one service line which comprises said at least one cavity of said panel; and   installing a roof structure of the building over the ceiling structure,   wherein a connector is secured between the wall structure and the ceiling structure to form therebetween a connection which is such that the connector engages both the ceiling structure and at least one of the skins so as to direct, to the at least one of the skins engaged thereby, loading exerted by the ceiling structure,   wherein said at least one cavity is accessible through at least one of said connector and said ceiling structure, to install the at least one service line.   
     
     
         109 . A method of constructing a building, the method comprising:
 installing at least one of a ceiling structure, a floor structure and another wall structure adjacent a wall structure, wherein at least one of said ceiling structure, floor structure, wall structure and another wall structure comprises a panel, the panel comprising opposed skins and a core within which extends at least one cavity via which either or each of fluid and power is suppliable through the panel;   installing at least one service line through at least one said cavity of the panel; and/or   installing at least one service line which comprises at least one said cavity of that panel.   
     
     
         110 . The method of  claim 109  comprising:
 accessing, through another of the at least one of said ceiling structure, floor structure, wall structure and another wall structure, said at least one said cavity to install said at least one service line. 
 
     
     
         111 . The method of  claim 109  comprising:
 forming a connection between the wall structure and the at least one of said ceiling structure, floor structure and another wall structure, by joining a connector with the wall structure and the at least one of said ceiling structure, floor structure, wall structure and another wall structure such that the connector engages both the other structure and at least one of the opposed skins so as to direct, to the at least one of the opposed skins engaged thereby, loading exerted by the other structure. 
 
     
     
         112 . The method of  claim 109  comprising:
 forming a connection between the wall structure and the ceiling structure by securing a connector between the wall structure and the ceiling structure. 
 
     
     
         113 . The method of  claim 112 ,
 wherein said at least one cavity is accessible through at least one of said connector joined with the wall structure and the ceiling structure and said ceiling structure, to install the at least one service line.   
     
     
         114 . The method of  claim 109 ,
 wherein the at least one of a ceiling structure, a floor structure and another wall structure adjacent the wall structure is said another wall structure.   
     
     
         115 . The method of  claim 109 ,
 wherein the at least one of a ceiling structure, a floor structure and another wall structure adjacent other of said structures comprises another panel.   
     
     
         116 . The method of  claim 115 ,
 wherein the another panel comprises another core and another set of opposed skins.   
     
     
         117 . The method of  claim 109  comprising:
 subsequent installing said at least one service line, installing a roof structure of the building over the ceiling structure; and 
 forming a connection between the wall structure and the roof structure. 
 
     
     
         118 . The method of  claim 108 ,
 wherein a top plate defined by the connector secures the wall structure to the ceiling structure.   
     
     
         119 . The method of  claim 117 ,
 wherein a connection is formed between the ceiling structure and the roof structure by securing a connector between the ceiling structure and the roof structure.   
     
     
         120 . The method of  claim 119 ,
 wherein the forming of the connection between the ceiling structure and the roof structure comprises securing the connector to the ceiling structure and thereafter securing the connector to the roof structure,   wherein, after securing of the connector to the ceiling structure and before the securing the connector to the roof structure, said at least one said cavity is accessed through said connector, and/or is accessed through said ceiling structure, to install the at least one service line.   
     
     
         121 . The method of  claim 120 ,
 wherein the wall structure comprises a wall panel and the roof structure comprises a roof panel.   
     
     
         122 . The method of  claim 108 ,
 wherein the ceiling structure comprises a ceiling panel.   
     
     
         123 . The method of  claim 109 ,
 wherein the wall structure and the at least one of said ceiling structure, floor structure and another wall structure adjacent thereto are installed such that the wall structure bounds a space at a side thereof, and the at least one of said ceiling structure, floor structure and another wall structure bounds the space at a top, bottom or other side, respectively, thereof, said space defining an interior space in the building.   
     
     
         124 . The method of  claim 123  comprising:
 attaining lock-up in respect of said space, interior space or building prior to installation of the services. 
 
     
     
         125 . The method of  claim 108 ,
 wherein at least one external opening into the at least one said cavity is formed, and   wherein the installing of the at least one said service line is such that a service to be provided thereby is provided through at least one external opening.   
     
     
         126 . A building constructed by the method of  claim 108 . 
     
     
         127 . A building constructed by the method of  claim 109 .
