Multi-function article including tote bag

Abstract

Disclosed are embodiments of a multi-function article that can be converted, for example, into a tote bag or a bottom of a garment (such as a jacket). In certain embodiments, a tote bag portion can be unzipped from a jacket, then the jacket can be worn as a jacket and the tote bag can be used to carry items. In one embodiment, a jacket can include a fastener at a hem to form the bottom of the tote bag, and can include another fastener coupled to the jacket for facilitating detachment of the bottom portion from the jacket.

1 . A tote bag convertible into a bottom portion of a jacket, the tote bag comprising:
 a tote portion;   a first fastener coupled to the tote portion;   wherein the first fastener is configured to attach the tote portion to a fastener of a jacket;   wherein the tote portion is configured to provide a bottom portion of the jacket when the first fastener is attached to the fastener of the jacket;   a hem portion coupled to the tote portion, the hem portion configured to be used as the bottom of a tote bag;   a second fastener coupled to the hem portion;   wherein the second fastener is configured to close a bottom of the tote portion to provide a bottom of the tote bag; and   wherein the first fastener is configured to close the top of the tote bag to secure items placed in the tote bag.   
     
     
         2 . The tote bag of  claim 1 , further comprising handles placed within an inner lining of the tote portion, wherein the handles are configured to be used as handles for the tote bag. 
     
     
         3 . The tote bag of  claim 1 , wherein the first fastener, the second fastener, and the fastener of the jacket each comprises a zipper. 
     
     
         4 . The tote bag of  claim 1 , wherein the first fastener, the second fastener, and the fastener of the jacket each comprises one or more buttons. 
     
     
         5 . The tote bag of  claim 1 , wherein the first fastener, the second fastener, or the fastener of the jacket comprises at least one fastener from the group comprising: zippers, buttons, and hook-and-loop. 
     
     
         6 . A jacket-bag product comprising:
 a jacket portion;   a tote portion removably coupled to the jacket portion;   wherein the tote portion comprises:
 a first fastener configured to attach to a fastener of the jacket portion to provide a bottom portion of a jacket; 
 a hem along a bottom edge of the tote portion; and 
 a second fastener coupled to the hem, wherein the second fastener is configured to close a bottom of the tote portion to provide a tote bag. 
   
     
     
         7 . The jacket-bag product of  claim 6 , wherein the jacket portion comprises a crop top jacket. 
     
     
         8 . The jacket-bag product of  claim 6 , wherein the hem along the bottom edge of the tote portion becomes a bottom hem of a jacket when the jacket portion is coupled to the tote portion. 
     
     
         9 . The jacket-bag product of  claim 6 , wherein the jacket portion and the tote portion are configured to facilitate separate and/or simultaneous use of the jacket portion as a jacket and the tote portion as a tote bag. 
     
     
         10 . The jacket-bag product of  claim 6 , wherein the first fastener, the second fastener, and the fastener of the jacket portion each comprises at least one fastener from the group comprising: zippers, buttons, and hook-and-loop. 
     
     
         11 . The jacket-bag product of  claim 6 , wherein the first fastener, the second fastener, and the fastener of the jacket portion each comprises zippers. 
     
     
         12 . The jacket-bag product of  claim 6 , wherein the first fastener, the second fastener, and the fastener of the jacket portion each comprises buttons. 
     
     
         13 . The jacket-bag product of  claim 6 , wherein the first fastener, the second fastener, and the fastener of the jacket portion each comprises a hook-and-loop fastener. 
     
     
         14 . A multi-function article comprising:
 a top portion having a first fastener;   a bottom portion having a second fastener configured to facilitate removably attaching the top portion to the bottom portion by fastening or unfastening the first fastener with the second fastener; and   a third fastener coupled to the bottom portion, the third fastener configured to close a hem side of the bottom portion to facilitate converting the bottom portion into a tote bag.   
     
     
         15 . The multi-function article of  claim 14 , wherein the bottom portion comprises handles, wherein the handles are placed in an inner lining of the bottom portion, and wherein the handles are configured to facilitate carrying the tote bag. 
     
     
         16 . The multi-function article of  claim 14 , wherein the hem is configured to become a bottom hem of a jacket when the bottom portion is attached to the top portion. 
     
     
         17 . The multi-function article of  claim 14 , wherein the top portion comprises a jacket. 
     
     
         18 . The multi-function article of  claim 14 , wherein the top portion comprises a crop top jacket. 
     
     
         19 . The multi-function article of  claim 14 , wherein the top portion is configured for use as a jacket, wherein the bottom portion is configured for use as a tote bag, and wherein the top portion and the bottom portion are configured to facilitate simultaneous use of the jacket and the tote bag. 
     
     
         20 . The multi-function article of  claim 14 , wherein the first, second, and third fastener each comprises a zipper.
