Abstract

A game system comprises two game boards, each game board having a front and a back; each game board comprising a first shelf in the front that runs the width of each game board above the bottom, the first shelf comprising six vertical boards, forming five slots, each slot having points assigned to it; each of the six vertical boards comprising a rounded bevel on a top leading edge of each of the six vertical boards; each game board comprising a second shelf centered below the top at the front of each game board, the second shelf having point assigned to it. And a method of playing a game using the game system.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A game system comprising two game boards, a first game board and a second game board;
 each game board having a front and a back and 4 sides, a top, with a front top leading edge and a back top leading edge, a bottom, with a front bottom leading edge and a back bottom leading edge, a right side, and a left side;   each game board being 30-38 inches wide and 38-42 inches tall;   each game board comprising a first shelf that is 1-1.5 inch in depth, 3.5-5 inches long, and 34-38 inches wide in the front of each game board that runs the width of each game board at 2.5-5 inches above the bottom, the first shelf comprising six vertical boards, each of which being 1-1.5 inches in depth, 3.5-4.5 inches wide, and 9-11 inches tall, forming five slots, each slot being 5.5-6.5 inches wide, each slot having points assigned to it;   each of the six vertical boards comprising a 1-1.5 inch rounded bevel on a top leading edge of each of the six vertical boards;   each game board comprising a 9-11 inches wide second shelf centered 9-13 inches below the top at the front of each game board, the second shelf having point assigned to it;   the back of each game board being edged with 1.5-2.5 inches by 1.5-2.5 inches boards and comprising two legs made from 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches boards attached with hinges to the top of the back to allow each game board to sit at a 25°-35° playing angle.   
     
     
         2 . The game system of  claim 1 , wherein when playing, the two game boards are set 20-30 feet apart from each other from the front bottom leading edge of each game board such that the front of the two game boards faces each other. 
     
     
         3 . The game system of  claim 1 , each game board being 36 inches wide and 40 inches tall; the two game boards being set 25 feet apart from each other from the bottom leading edge of each game board; each game board comprising a first shelf that is 1 inch in depth, 4 inches tall, and 36 inches wide in the front of each game board that runs the width of each game board at 3″ above the bottom with vertical boards, each vertical board being 1 inch in depth, 4 inches wide, and 10 inches tall, forming five slots, each slot being 6 inches wide; each of the six vertical boards comprising a 1.5 inch rounded bevel on a top leading edge of each of the six vertical boards;
 each game board comprising a 10 inches wide second shelf centered 10 inches from the top at the front of each game board; the back of each game board being edged with 2 inches by 2 inches boards and having two legs made from 2 inches by 2 inches boards attached with hinges to the back to allow each game board to sit at a 55° playing angle. 
 
     
     
         4 . The game system of  claim 1 , further comprising eight 14-18 ounce bean bags. 
     
     
         5 . The game system of  claim 1 , further comprising eight 16 ounce bean bags. 
     
     
         6 . The game system of  claim 1 , wherein the second shelf is assigned 10 pints, the two outermost slots of the first shelf are assigned 1 point each; the two slots of the first shelf immediately adjacent to the two outermost slots are assigned 3 points each; the centermost slot of the first shelf is assigned 5 points. 
     
     
         7 . A game system comprising two game boards, a first game board and a second game board;
 each game board having a front and a back and 4 sides, a top, with a front top leading edge and a back top leading edge, a bottom, with a front bottom leading edge and a back bottom leading edge, a right side, and a left side;   each game board being between 22-26 inches wide and 30-34 inches tall; each game board comprising a first shelf that is between 1-1.5 inch in depth, 3.5-5 inches long, and 22-26 inches wide in the front of each game board that runs the width of each game board at 2.5-5 inches above the bottom;   the first shelf comprising six vertical boards, each of which being 1-1.5 inches in depth, 3.5-4.5 inches wide and 6-10 inches tall, forming five slots, each slot being 3-5 inches wide, each slot having points assigned to it;   each of the six vertical boards comprising a 1-1.5 inch rounded bevel on a top leading edge of each of the six vertical boards;   each game board comprising a 7-9 inches wide second shelf centered 7-10 inches below the top at the front of each game board, the second shelf having point assigned to it;   the back of each game board being edged with 1.5-2.5 inches by 1.5-2.5 inches boards and comprising two legs made from 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches boards attached with hinges to the bottom of the back to allow each game board to sit at a 25-35° playing angle.   
     
     
         8 . The game system of  claim 7 , wherein when playing, the two game boards are set 20-30 feet apart from each other from the front bottom leading edge of each game board such that the front of the two game boards faces each other. 
     
     
         9 . The game system of  claim 7 , further comprising eight 10-14 ounce bean bags. 
     
     
         10 . The game system of  claim 7 , wherein the second shelf is assigned 10 pints, the two outermost slots of the first shelf are assigned 1 point each; the two slots of the first shelf immediately adjacent to the two outermost slots are assigned 3 points each; the centermost slot of the first shelf is assigned 5 points. 
     
     
         11 . A method of playing a game comprising:
 playing with four players as two teams of two players each team, using any of the game system of  claim 6 , each team having four bean bags;   placing a first player at the first game board and the other team's first player at the first game board; placing a team's second player at the second game board and the other team's second player at the second game board;   each team alternately throwing a bean bag to the opposite game board with the players on each team alternating, until all bags have been played to conclude a round, the object being to throw the bag inside one of the five slots of the first shelf or the second shelf of the opposite game board;   when throwing, each player keeping at least one foot behind the leading edge of the game board nearest the player;   after each round, counting the score for each team; wherein:   bags that hit the ground prior to the opposite game board do not count and are immediately removed from play;   a bag that covers up the other team's bag is cancelled at a one-to-one ratio;   a bag that hangs above the slots at the bottom must have a minimum of two corners in the slot to count as valid for score;   a bag that hangs on the bottom of the slot counts, even if only one corner is in the slot, so long as the bag does not touch the ground; and   a bag that has at least one corner on the second shelf is counted as a valid score;   the team that scores the highest during a round determines the order of play for the next round;   each game ends at 50 points but only at the end of a round and if both teams are over 50 points at the end of that round, the team with the highest score wins.   
     
     
         12 . A method of playing a game comprising:
 playing with four players as two teams of two players each team, using any of the game system of  claim 10 , each team having four bean bags;   placing a first player at the first game board and the other team's first player at the first game board; placing a team's second player at the second game board and the other team's second player at the second game board;   each team alternately throwing a bean bag to the opposite game board with the players on each team alternating, until all bags have been played to conclude a round, the object being to throw the bag inside one of the five slots of the first shelf or the second shelf of the opposite game board;   when throwing, each player keeping at least one foot behind the leading edge of the game board nearest the player;   after each round, counting the score for each team; wherein:   bags that hit the ground prior to the opposite game board do not count and are immediately removed from play;   a bag that covers up the other team's bag is cancelled at a one-to-one ratio;   a bag that hangs above the slots at the bottom must have a minimum of two corners in the slot to count as valid for score;   a bag that hangs on the bottom of the slot counts, even if only one corner is in the slot, so long as the bag does not touch the ground; and   a bag that has at least one corner on the second shelf is counted as a valid score;   the team that scores the highest during a round determines the order of play for the next round;   each game ends at 50 points but only at the end of a round and if both teams are over 50 points at the end of that round, the team with the highest score wins.
