Abstract

Devices and products for enhancing wearability of wearable devices are described. According to one embodiment, a hybrid band for securing a wearable device to a living object comprises a fabric layer and an elastomer layer securely adhered to the fabric layer, wherein when the watch is worn by the user, the fabric layer of the hybrid band is to face a wrist of the user and to substantially touch a skin of the user and the elastomer layer of the hybrid band is physically separated from the skin of the user by the fabric layer.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A band system for securing a watch to a user, the band system comprising:
a buckle side band; and a point side band, wherein each of the buckle side band and the point side band is made of a hybrid band, the hybrid band comprising:
 a fabric layer; and
an elastomer layer securely adhered to the fabric layer, wherein when the watch is worn by the user, the fabric layer of the hybrid band is to face a wrist of the user and to substantially touch a skin of the user and the elastomer layer of the hybrid band is physically separated from the skin of the user by the fabric layer.

2 . The band system of claim 1 , wherein the fabric layer is made of nylon.

3 . The band system of claim 1 , wherein the fabric layer comprises a voluminous surface.

4 . The band system of claim 1 , wherein the elastomer layer is made of silicone.

5 . The band system of claim 1 , wherein the elastomer layer of the hybrid band on the point side band comprises at least one eyelet, and a portion of the fabric layer of the hybrid band on the point side band corresponding to the at least one eyelet is cut to expose the at least one eyelet when the elastomer layer is securely adhered to the fabric layer.

6 . The band system of claim 5 , wherein the elastomer layer of the hybrid band on the point side band comprises an indentation to accommodate the fabric layer of the hybrid band on the point side band so that a level of the at least one eyelet is on par with a level of the fabric layer of the hybrid band on the point side band.

7 . The band system of claim 1 , wherein the fabric layer and the elastomer layer are securely adhered using stitches and an adhesive.

8 . The band system of claim 1 , wherein the elastomer layer of the hybrid band on the point side band comprises a pull enhancer to pull the point side band through a keeper of the buckle side band.

9 . The band system of claim 8 , wherein the pull enhancer comprises a protrusion formed in the middle of the pull enhancer and at least one layer of concentric circle surrounding the protrusion.

10 . The band system of claim 9 , wherein the protrusion formed in the middle of the pull enhancer is a convex shape.

         11 . A watch, comprising:
a housing to enclose electrical and mechanical components of the watch; and a band system coupled to the housing, the band system configured to secure the watch to a user, the band system comprising:
 a buckle side band; and
 a point side band,
wherein each of the buckle side band and the point side band is made of a hybrid band, the hybrid band comprising:
 a fabric layer; and
an elastomer layer securely adhered to the fabric layer, wherein when the watch is worn by the user, the fabric layer of the hybrid band is to face a wrist of the user and to substantially touch a skin of the user and the elastomer layer of the hybrid band is physically separated from the skin of the user by the fabric layer.

12 . The watch of claim 11 , wherein the fabric layer is made of a breathable fabric.

13 . The watch of claim 11 , wherein the elastomer layer is made of thermoplastic polyurethane.

14 . The watch of claim 11 , wherein the elastomer layer of the hybrid band on the point side band comprises at least one eyelet, and a portion of the fabric layer of the hybrid band on the point side band corresponding to the at least one eyelet is cut to expose the at least one eyelet when the elastomer layer is securely adhered to the fabric layer.

15 . The watch of claim 11 , wherein the elastomer layer of the hybrid band on the point side band comprises a pull enhancer to pull the point side band through a keeper of the buckle side band.

16 . A hybrid band for securing a wearable device to a living object, the hybrid band comprising:
a fabric layer; and an elastomer layer securely adhered to the fabric layer, wherein when the watch is worn by the user, the fabric layer of the hybrid band is to face a wrist of the user and to substantially touch a skin of the user and the elastomer layer of the hybrid band is physically separated from the skin of the user by the fabric layer.

17 . The hybrid band of claim 16 , wherein the wearable device comprises a ring.

18 . The hybrid band of claim 16 , wherein the living object is a pet.

19 . The hybrid band of claim 16 , wherein the fabric layer is made of nylon.

20 . The hybrid band of claim 16 , wherein the elastomer layer is made of silicone.
