Abstract
The invention is directed to a corner retention clip system for supporting the front two corners of a shelf in a shelving system. Each corner retention clip includes a generally horizontal support panel, a channel connected to the support panel for receiving a front lip of a shelf of the shelving display and a side wall connector for connecting the clip to a side wall of the shelving display.

21 . A clip for supporting a shelf in a shelving display comprising:
a channel for receiving a vertical downwardly directed lip of the shelf; and, a side wall connector connected to the channel for connecting the clip to a side wall of the shelving display.
22 . The clip of claim 21 further comprising a generally horizontal support panel for contacting a lower surface of the shelf.
23 . The clip of claim 22 wherein the side wall connector includes a horizontal portion, a first vertical portion extending upward from the horizontal portion and a second vertical portion extending downward from the horizontal portion.
24 . The clip of claim 22 wherein the channel includes a back wall extending downward from a front edge of the horizontal support panel.
25 . The clip of claim 24 wherein the channel includes a lower horizontal support surface connected to a bottom edge of the back wall.
26 . The clip of claim 25 wherein the channel includes a front wall extending upward from the lower horizontal support surface.
27 . The clip of claim 26 wherein the front wall of the channel has an arcuate edge.
28 . The clip of claim 22 wherein the horizontal support panel includes an upwardly extending pin configured to fit in an opening in the shelf.
29 . The clip of claim 28 wherein the pin has a generally rectangular shape.
30 . The clip of claim 22 includes a positioning pin extending outward below the horizontal support panel.
31 . The clip of claim 30 comprising a tab extending downward from a front edge of the horizontal support panel and wherein the positioning pin extends from the tab.
32 . The clip of claim 21 wherein the clip is configured to support a left side of the shelf.
33 . The clip of claim 21 wherein the clip is configured to support a right side of the shelf.
34 . The clip of claim 32 further comprising an additional clip configured to support a right side of the shelf detachably connected the clip configured to support the left side of the shelf.
35 . The clip of claim 34 wherein the additional clip having a channel for receiving a vertical downwardly directed lip of the shelf and a side wall connector connected to the channel for connecting the clip to a side wall of the shelving display.
36 . The clip of claim 34 wherein the additional clip is configured to support a right side of the shelf is connected to the clip configured to support a left side of the shelf by frangible ribs.
37 . The clip of claim 33 wherein the clip configured to support a left side of the shelf has an embossed “L” indicia and the additional clip configured to support the right side of the shelf has an embossed “R” indicia.
38 . The clip of claim 22 wherein the channel, side wall connector and horizontal support panel is made from plastic.
39 . A shelf support clip comprising:
a first shelf support component having a horizontal support panel and a side wall connector for supporting a first front corner of a shelf; and, a second shelf support component detachably connected to the first shelf support component, the second shelf support component having a horizontal support panel and a side wall connector for supporting a second front corner of the shelf.
