Abstract
A method and apparatus are disclosed for removing one item of media at a time from an item of media container. The apparatus includes a movable element locatable in an abutting relationship with an elected item of media in a media container and disposed to vibrating against the elected item of media to permit the elected item of media to be subsequently be removed alone from the container.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An apparatus, comprising:
a carrier adapted to perform rotational motion about an axis of rotation; a pick arm lever comprising an abutment surface affixed to the carrier, wherein rotation of the carrier in a first rotational direction about the axis of rotation places the pick arm level in an abutting relationship with an elected item of media, wherein rotation of the carrier in a second rotational direction about the axis of rotation places the pick arm level in a non-abutting relationship with the elected item of media allowing the elected item of media to be picked and transported by rollers; and the rollers comprise an upper nip roller and a lower nip roller, wherein the lower nip roller is a partial truncated roller that is not a whole roller, wherein the upper nip roller is driven in an opposite direction of the lower nip roller and driven at a different speed from the lower nip roller.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the pick arm lever further comprises a vacuum source that is activated to hold the elected item of media when placed in the abutting relationship with the elected item of media.
3 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the pick arm level is further adapted to terminate the vacuum source when placed in the non-abutting relationship.
4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the pick arm level is an elongated arm connected on a first end of the abutment surface to a vacuum source and connected on a second end of the abutment surface to the carrier.
5 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the second end is fixedly connected off center on the carrier.
6 . The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:
a gear that is adapted to rotate the carrier in the first rotational direction and the second rotational direction.
7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the abutment surface is repeatedly driven forward and backward against an outer surface of the elected item of media at a predefined frequency to separate and grab the elected item of media based on the first rotational direction and the second rotation direction of the carrier.
8 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus is configured to operate in a pock mode of operation and a release mode of operation.
9 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus is a depository, and the elected item of media is currency notes.
10 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the depository is a component device of an Automated Teller Machine (ATM).
11 . An apparatus, comprising:
a pick are lever comprising an abutment surface affixed to a carrier, wherein rotation of the carrier about an axis of rotation places the pick arm level in an abutting relationship with an elected item of media, wherein rotation of the carrier in a different rotational direction about the axis places the pick arm level in a non-abutting relationship with the elected media item allowing the elected media item to be picked and transported.
12 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein elected media item is transported by rollers.
13 . The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the rollers comprise an upper nip roller and a lower nip roller.
14 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the lower nip roller is a partial truncated roller that is not a whole roller.
15 . The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the upper nip roller is driven in an opposite direction of the lower nip roller.
16 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the upper nip roller is driven at a different speed from the lower nip roller.
17 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the pick arm lever comprises a vacuum source that is activated to hold the elected item of media when placed in the abutting relationship with the elected item of media.
18 . The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the pick arm lever is configured to terminate the vacuum source when placed in the non-abutting relationship.
19 . An apparatus, comprising:
a carrier; a pick arm lever; upper nip rollers; and lower nip rollers; wherein the pick arm lever comprises an abutment surface affixed to the carrier and configured through rotation of the carrier to be placed in an abutting and non-abutting relationships with an elected item of media; wherein the elected item of media is transported by the upper nip rollers and the lower nip rollers when the pick arm lever is in the non-abutting relationship.
20 . The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein lower nip roller is a partial truncated roller that is not a whole roller, wherein the upper nip roller is driven in an opposite direction of a direction of the lower nip roller, wherein the upper nip roller is driven at a different speed than the lower nip roller.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
