Laundry processing apparatus and method of controlling the same

Abstract

An apparatus comprising: a washing machine, a drying machine disposed on the washing machine, and a control panel. The control panel including a first user interface configured to control the washing machine, a second user interface configured to control the drying machine, a first start/pause button configured to receive an input for starting or pausing an operating of the washing machine, a second user interface configured to receive an input for controlling the drying machine, and a display configured to display operation information of the washing machine and operation information of the drying machine. The apparatus configured to control an operation of the drying machine in response to an input received through the second start/pause button while operation information of the washing machine is displayed on the display.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An apparatus comprising:
 a washing machine;   a drying machine;   a control panel including a control button; and   a controller configured to:
 display information of a first user interface for controlling the washing machine, 
 in response to obtaining a first user input, start a washing operation of the washing machine, 
 in response to obtaining a second user input via the control button, switch from display of the information of the first user interface for controlling the washing machine to display of information of a second user interface for controlling the drying machine, and 
 in response to obtaining a third user input for pausing the washing operation of the washing machine, pause the washing operation of the washing machine despite having switched from display of the information of the first user interface to display of the information of the second user interface. 
   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to obtain the third user input for pausing the washing operation of the washing machine during a dryer control mode of the apparatus. 
     
     
         3 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to obtain the third user input for pausing operation of the washing machine through a start/pause button provided on the control panel. 
     
     
         4 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
 in response to obtaining a fourth user input, start a drying operation of the drying machine,   in response to obtaining a fifth user input, switch from display of the information of the second user interface to display of the information of the first user interface, and   in response to obtaining a sixth user input for pausing the operation of the drying machine, pause the drying operation of the drying machine despite having switched from display of the information of the second user interface to display of the information of the first user interface.   
     
     
         5 . An apparatus comprising:
 a washing machine;   a drying machine;   a control panel including a control button; and   a controller configured to:
 display information of a second user interface for controlling the drying machine, 
 in response to obtaining a first user input, start a drying operation of the drying machine, 
 in response to obtaining a second user input through the control button, switch from display of the information of the second user interface for controlling the drying machine to display of information of a first user interface for controlling the washing machine, and 
 in response to obtaining a third user input for pausing the drying operation of the drying machine, pause the drying operation of the drying machine despite having switched from display of the information of the first user interface to display of the information of the second user interface. 
   
     
     
         6 . The apparatus of  claim 5 , wherein the controller is further configured to obtain the third user input for pausing the drying operation of the drying machine during a washer control mode of the apparatus. 
     
     
         7 . The apparatus of  claim 5 , wherein the controller is further configured to obtain the third user input for pausing operation of the drying machine through a start/pause button provided on the control panel. 
     
     
         8 . The apparatus of  claim 5 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
 in response to obtaining a fourth user input, start a washing operation of the washing machine,   in response to obtaining a fifth user input, switch from display of the information of the first user interface to display of the information of the second user interface, and   in response to obtaining a sixth user input for pausing the operation of the washing machine, pause the washing operation of the washing machine despite having switched from display of the information of the first user interface to display of the information of the second user interface.   
     
     
         9 . A method for operating an apparatus, the method comprising:
 displaying information of a first user interface for controlling a washing machine of the apparatus;   in response to obtaining a first user input, starting a washing operation of the washing machine;   in response to obtaining a second user input via a control button on a control panel of the apparatus, switching from display of the information of the first user interface for controlling the washing machine to display of information of a second user interface for controlling a drying machine of the apparatus; and   in response to obtaining a third user input for pausing the washing operation of the washing machine, pausing the washing operation of the washing machine despite having switched from displaying the information of the first user interface to displaying the information of the second user interface.   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , further comprising obtaining the third user input for pausing the washing operation of the washing machine during a dryer control mode of the apparatus. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 9 , further comprising obtaining the third user input for pausing operation of the washing machine through a start/pause button provided on the control panel. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 9 , further comprising:
 in response to obtaining a fourth user input, starting a drying operation of the drying machine;   in response to obtaining a fifth user input, switching from displaying the information of the second user interface to displaying the information of the first user interface; and   in response to obtaining a sixth user input for pausing the operation of the drying machine, pausing the drying operation of the drying machine despite having switched from displaying the information of the second user interface to displaying the information of the first user interface.
