Sidestream smoke removal device and control method thereof

Abstract

A sidestream smoke removal device and a control method thereof are provided. The sidestream smoke removal device according to some embodiments of the present disclosure may include a housing in which a smoking space is formed, an article insertion portion which is disposed at one end of the housing and forms an opening for insertion of a smoking article into the smoking space, an ignition portion which is configured to ignite the smoking article inserted into the smoking space, a sidestream smoke processing portion which is configured to process sidestream smoke generated from the smoking article inserted into the smoking space, and a heating portion disposed inside the housing to heat the smoking space. The heating portion may heat the smoking space to remove a smell generated due to by-products of smoking, and accordingly, the cleanliness of the sidestream smoke removal device can be improved.

1 . A sidestream smoke removal device comprising:
 a housing in which a smoking space is formed;   an article insertion portion which is disposed at one end of the housing and forms an opening for insertion of a smoking article into the smoking space;   an ignition portion configured to ignite the smoking article inserted into the smoking space;   a sidestream smoke processing portion configured to process sidestream smoke generated from the smoking article inserted into the smoking space; and   a heating portion disposed inside the housing and configured to heat the smoking space.   
     
     
         2 . The sidestream smoke removal device of  claim 1 , wherein a heating temperature of the heating portion is in a range of 50° C. to 200° C. 
     
     
         3 . The sidestream smoke removal device of  claim 1 , wherein an operation start time point of the heating portion is determined based on a smoking end time point. 
     
     
         4 . The sidestream smoke removal device of  claim 1 , wherein an operation start time point of the heating portion is determined based on a puff start time point. 
     
     
         5 . The sidestream smoke removal device of  claim 4 , wherein a heating temperature of the heating portion is determined based on a puff duration or a puff intensity. 
     
     
         6 . The sidestream smoke removal device of  claim 1 , wherein heating time of the heating portion is determined based on smoking time. 
     
     
         7 . The sidestream smoke removal device of  claim 1 , wherein a heating temperature of the heating portion is determined based on smoking time. 
     
     
         8 . The sidestream smoke removal device of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a temperature sensor disposed to measure a temperature near a downstream end of a smoking material portion constituting the inserted smoking article; and   a controller configured to, based on the temperature measured by the temperature sensor, determine whether smoking has ended.   
     
     
         9 . The sidestream smoke removal device of  claim 1 , wherein a vent through which outside air enters is formed in the housing. 
     
     
         10 . The sidestream smoke removal device of  claim 1 , wherein:
 a vent through which outside air enters is formed in the housing;   the sidestream smoke processing portion includes an exhaust fan configured to exhaust the sidestream smoke; and   the sidestream smoke removal device further comprises a controller configured to, in response to detection of an end of smoking, close the vent and stop an operation of the exhaust fan.
