Abstract
A transportable target game assembly being collapsible with laterally extending support wedges supporting the target face of the target assembly. The support wedges are secured laterally to the target face with a segmented hinge. Jointless support struts are provided between the support wedges and the bottom side of the target face. The jointless strut snaps into rigidity to erect the target assembly and collapses into recesses formed in the bottom side of the target face for collapse and transport. The jointless support strut comprises multiple layers of spring steel with a clearance riveted connection to allow the multiple layers to cooperatively bend and straighten for erection and collapse.

1 . A portable target assembly for a target game comprising:
a target face having provisions for receiving and withstanding projectiles launched towards said target face from a distance; a support structure for said target face of sufficient rigidity to withstand repeatedly being struck by projectiles launched from a distance; wherein said target face and said support structure are adequate to support the loads and forces applied during ordinary gameplay.
2 . The portable target assembly as set forth in claim 1 wherein said target face and said support structures comprise lightweight materials for ease of transport.
3 . The portable target assembly as set forth in claim 2 wherein said target face and said support structure comprise polymer and metal composition.
4 . The portable target assembly of claim 2 wherein said support structure comprises at least one supporting wedge affixed to said target face in a manner allowing said supporting wedges to collapse for transport.
5 . The portable target assembly of claim 4 wherein said supporting wedge supports the weight of said target face substantially along at least one side of said target face.
6 . The portable target assembly of claim 5 wherein a collapsible supporting strut is interposed between said at least one supporting wedge and said target face wherein said target face and said support structure are erected for gameplay.
7 . The portable target assembly of claim 6 wherein said collapsible supporting strut comprises a flexible joint with strut.
8 . The portable target assembly of claim 7 wherein said target face comprises a top side and a bottom side, said supportive structure being permanently affixed between said at least one wedge and said bottom side of said target face.
9 . The portable assembly of claim 8 wherein said bottom side of said target face comprises at least one void located to receive said supporting strut when said supporting structure is collapsed.
10 . The portable assembly of claim 9 wherein said supporting structure of comprises at least two support wedges.
11 . A portable target assembly for a target game comprising:
a target face plate comprising a moldable material; supportive wedges supporting said target face plate along lateral edges; wherein said supportive wedges collapse for transport to provide a slim profile assembly.
12 . The portable target assembly as set forth in claim 11 further comprising multiple layers of materials provided and retained within a peripheral lip formed in said moldable target face.
