Exercise systems and methods

Abstract

A workout device that allows for at home Nordic hamstring curls using a. doorframe or other immovable object is disclosed.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An exercise system, comprising:
 a user engagement assembly having a central elongate element, a first compressible pad, and a second compressible pad;   an anchor assembly; and   a strap assembly having a strap coupling mechanism, a first strap coupled with the strap coupling mechanism, and a second strap coupled with the strap coupling mechanism,   wherein the first strap is coupled with the user engagement assembly,   wherein the second strap is coupled with the anchor assembly,   wherein the strap coupling mechanism comprises a frame, a pivot, and a friction cam coupled with the frame via the pivot,   wherein the friction cam is moveable relative to the frame via the pivot,   wherein the friction cam is operable to fix the first strap relative to the frame,   wherein the central elongate element comprises a first portion and a second portion, and   wherein the first compressible pad is engaged with the first portion of the central elongate element and the second compressible pad is engaged with the second portion of the central elongate element.   
     
     
         2 . The exercise system according to  claim 1 , wherein the user engagement assembly further comprises a first end cap and a second end cap, wherein the first end cap is engaged with a first end of the central elongate element and the second end cap is engaged with a second end of the central elongate element. 
     
     
         3 . The exercise system according to  claim 1 , wherein the strap assembly provides a fixed distance between the strap coupling mechanism and the anchor mechanism. 
     
     
         4 . The exercise system according to  claim 1 , wherein the strap assembly provides an adjustable distance between the strap coupling mechanism and the user engagement assembly.
