Charging handle and upper receiver for a firearm

Abstract

A charging handle and an upper receiver for a firearm that prevent the build-up of gasses by allowing the gasses to be released. The upper receiver and the charging handle include multiple holes through which the gasses can be released and the blow of gasses over a face of a person can be prevented.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A firearm comprising:
 an upper receiver, the upper receiver has a hollow body and a plurality of holes in the hollow body made along a length of the hollow body, each of the plurality of holes are configured to permit release of gasses.   
     
     
         2 . The firearm according to  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of holes in the hollow body are linearly arranged to form a row of holes, and the row of holes in the hollow body extends along a longitudinal axis of the hollow body, wherein the hollow body comprises two such rows of holes on a left side and a right side respectively thereof. 
     
     
         3 . The firearm according to  claim 1 , wherein the firearm further comprises:
 a charging handle comprising:
 an elongated shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, the elongated shaft is hollow, and the elongated shaft has a plurality of holes. 
   
     
     
         4 . The firearm according to  claim 3 , wherein the plurality of holes in the elongated shaft are linearly arranged to form a row of holes, and the row of holes in the elongated shaft extends along a longitudinal axis of the elongated shaft, wherein the charging handle comprises two such rows of holes on a left side and a right thereof. 
     
     
         5 . A charging handle for a firearm, the charging handle comprises:
 an elongated shaft that has a proximal end and a distal end, the elongated shaft is hollow, and the elongated shaft has a plurality of holes.   
     
     
         6 . The charging handle according to  claim 5 , wherein the plurality of holes in the elongated shaft are linearly arranged to form a row of holes, and the row of holes extends along a longitudinal axis, wherein the charging handle comprises two such rows of holes on a left side and a right side respectively thereof. 
     
     
         7 . The charging handle according to  claim 6 , wherein each of the two rows of holes has eight holes spaced apart from one another at regular intervals. 
     
     
         8 . The charging handle according to  claim 7 , wherein the proximal end of the elongated shaft is configured to be engaged with a bolt of the firearm. 
     
     
         9 . The charging handle according to  claim 8 , wherein the distal end of the elongated shaft has a crossbar. 
     
     
         10 . A method for preventing the blow of gasses from a charging handle of a firearm, the method comprising:
 providing a charging handle comprising:
 an elongated shaft that has a proximal end and a distal end, the elongated shaft is hollow, and the elongated shaft has a plurality of holes. 
   
     
     
         11 . The method according to  claim 10 , wherein the plurality of holes in the elongated shaft are linearly arranged to form a row of holes, and the row of holes extends along a longitudinal axis, wherein the charging handle comprises two such rows of holes on a left side and a right side respectively of the elongated shaft. 
     
     
         12 . The method according to  claim 11 , wherein each of the two rows of holes has eight holes spaced apart at regular intervals. 
     
     
         13 . The method according to  claim 12 , wherein the proximal end of the elongated shaft is configured to be engaged with a bolt of the firearm. 
     
     
         14 . The method according to  claim 13 , wherein the distal end of the elongated shaft is configured has a crossbar.
