Abstract

Described herein is a golf bag with a sub-assembly and a stand assembly that together form a carry bag. The sub-assembly can comprise a divider top, a base, a divider sleeve, one or more stays that secure the base to the divider top, and a flat. The stand assembly can comprise a pair of legs, a spring, a pair of brackets for attaching the spring to the legs, and a pair of leg end cap protectors. When strapped to a golf cart, a golf bag can rub against portions of the cart, wearing paint off the legs. The instant golf bag comprises leg end cap protectors that can prevent wear on an upper portion of the legs. Furthermore, the stand assembly can be shipped disconnected from the sub-assembly to allow the sub-assembly to collapse and reduce shipping box size.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A sub-assembly for a golf bag comprising:
 A divider top, a base, one or more stays configured to secure the divider top to the base, a flat extending between the divider top and base, a stand assembly; the stand assembly comprising:
 a plurality of legs;
 a spring extending from the base to the plurality of legs;
 a leg spring attachment bracket;
 wherein:
 the leg spring attachment bracket is configured to attach the spring to the plurality of legs, and;
 the plurality of legs are configured to move from a retracted position into an extended position when a force is applied downwards on the sub-assembly.

         2 . The sub-assembly of claim 1 , wherein the spring is at least partially angled outwards from the flat.

         3 . The sub-assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the spring is generally Y-shaped.

         4 . The sub-assembly of claim 1 , wherein the spring is hingedly attached to both the base and the plurality of legs.

         5 . The sub-assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of leg end cap protectors configured to hingedly attach to the divider top and rigidly attach to the plurality of legs.

         6 . The sub-assembly of claim 1 , wherein the leg spring attachment bracket comprises a tubular body, further comprising a leg receiving channel configured to receive the plurality of legs.

         7 . The sub-assembly of claim 1 , wherein the leg spring attachment bracket comprises a spring attachment portion, further comprising a spring receiving channel configured to receive an end of the spring.

         8 . The sub-assembly of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of legs are straight.

         9 . The sub-assembly of claim 8 , wherein the spring attachment bracket is oriented away from the flat.

         10 . The sub-assembly of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of legs are bent.

         11 . The sub-assembly of claim 10 , wherein the spring attachment bracket is oriented toward the flat.

         12 . A golf bag comprising:
 a base, a divider top, a flat, and a leg assembly; the leg assembly comprising a pair of legs, a spring, and a leg spring attachment bracket configured to connect the spring and the pair of legs, wherein:
 the spring is hingedly attached to both the base and the pair of legs;
 the spring is at least partially angled outwards from the flat, and;
 the pair of legs are configured to move outward from the flat and into an extended position when a downwards force is applied to the golf bag.

         13 . The golf bag of claim 12 , wherein the spring is generally Y-shaped.

         14 . The golf bag of claim 12 , further comprising a plurality of leg end cap protectors configured to hingedly attach to the divider top and rigidly attach to the pair of legs.

         15 . The golf bag of claim 12 , wherein the leg spring attachment bracket comprises a tubular body, further comprising a leg receiving channel configured to receive the pair of legs.

         16 . The golf bag of claim 12 , wherein the leg spring attachment bracket comprises a spring attachment portion, further comprising a spring receiving channel configured to receive an end of the spring.

         17 . The golf bag of claim 12 , wherein the pair of legs is straight.

         18 . The golf bag of claim 17 , wherein the spring attachment bracket is oriented away from the flat.

         19 . The golf bag of claim 12 , wherein the pair of legs is bent.

         20 . The golf bag of claim 19 , wherein the spring attachment bracket is oriented toward the flat.
