Abstract
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive RACH configuration information on a downlink carrier of a first set of carriers, wherein the RACH configuration information pertains to the first set of carriers and to a second set of carriers; and selectively perform a RACH procedure with regard to the first set of carriers or the second set of carriers based at least in part on the RACH configuration information. Numerous other aspects are provided.

1 . A user equipment (UE) for wireless communication, comprising:
one or more memories; and one or more processors, coupled to the one or more memories, configured to cause the UE to: transmit a message of a random access channel (RACH) procedure; and receive information including a grant, wherein at least part of the information is scrambled using a random access radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI) that is associated with whether a first set of carriers or a second set of carriers is used for the RACH procedure.
2 . The UE of claim 1 ,
wherein the RA-RNTI is associated at least with an uplink carrier identifier, and wherein a value of the uplink carrier identifier indicates that one of the first set of carriers or the second set of carriers is used.
3 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the message of the RACH procedure is a first message of the RACH procedure,
wherein the RA-RNTI is for a second message of the RACH procedure, and wherein the second message of the RACH procedure is a random access response of the RACH procedure.
4 . The UE of claim 1 ,
wherein the message of the RACH procedure is a random access preamble, and wherein the RA-RNTI is associated with a transmission of the random access preamble.
5 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the RA-RNTI is for a random access response of the RACH procedure.
6 . The UE of claim 1 ,
wherein, to transmit the message of the RACH procedure, the one or more processors are configured to cause the UE to: transmit the message of the RACH procedure on a carrier of the first set of carriers or the second set of carriers, and wherein the RA-RNTI is based on the carrier.
7 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the RA-RNTI is based at least on an index for a slot on which the message of the RACH procedure is transmitted.
8 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the RA-RNTI is based at least on a carrier frequency offset index for a carrier, of the first set of carriers or the second set of carriers, on which the message of the RACH procedure is transmitted.
9 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the UE to:
receive RACH configuration information associated with the first set of carriers and the second set of carriers.
10 . The UE of claim 1 ,
wherein the message of the RACH procedure is a first message of the RACH procedure, and wherein the grant is for a second message of the RACH procedure.
11 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the UE to:
unscramble the at least part of the information using a slot index and a carrier frequency offset index.
12 . The UE of claim 1 ,
wherein the message of the RACH procedure is a first message of the RACH procedure, and wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the UE to: receive a second message, of the RACH procedure, using a resource granted by the grant.
13 . A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
transmitting a message of a random access channel (RACH) procedure; and receiving information including a grant, wherein at least part of the information is scrambled using a random access radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI) that is associated with whether a first set of carriers or a second set of carriers is used for the RACH procedure.
14 . The method of claim 13 ,
wherein the RA-RNTI is associated at least with an uplink carrier identifier, and wherein a value of the uplink carrier identifier indicates that one of the first set of carriers or the second set of carriers is used.
15 . The method of claim 13 ,
wherein the message of the RACH procedure is a first message of the RACH procedure, wherein the RA-RNTI is for a second message of the RACH procedure, and wherein the second message of the RACH procedure is a random access response of the RACH procedure.
16 . The method of claim 13 ,
wherein the message of the RACH procedure is a random access preamble, and wherein the RA-RNTI is associated with a transmission of the random access preamble.
17 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the RA-RNTI is for a random access response of the RACH procedure.
18 . The method of claim 13 ,
wherein transmitting the message of the RACH procedure comprises: transmitting the message of the RACH procedure on a carrier of the first set of carriers or the second set of carriers, and wherein the RA-RNTI is based on the carrier.
19 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the RA-RNTI is based at least on an index for a slot on which the message of the RACH procedure is transmitted.
20 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the RA-RNTI is based at least on a carrier frequency offset index for a carrier, of the first set of carriers or the second set of carriers, on which the message of the RACH procedure is transmitted.
21 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:
receiving RACH configuration information associated with the first set of carriers and the second set of carriers.
22 . The method of claim 13 ,
wherein the message of the RACH procedure is a first message of the RACH procedure, and wherein the grant is for a second message of the RACH procedure.
23 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:
unscrambling the at least part of the information using a slot index and a carrier frequency offset index.
24 . The method of claim 13 ,
wherein the message of the RACH procedure is a first message of the RACH procedure, and wherein the method further comprises: receiving a second message, of the RACH procedure, using a resource granted by the grant.
25 . A base station (BS) for wireless communication, comprising:
one or more memories; and one or more processors, coupled to the one or more memories, configured to cause the BS to: receive a message of a random access channel (RACH) procedure; and transmit information including a grant, wherein at least part of the information is scrambled using a random access radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI) that is associated with whether a first set of carriers or a second set of carriers is used for the RACH procedure.
26 . The BS of claim 25 ,
wherein the RA-RNTI is associated at least with an uplink carrier identifier, and wherein a value of the uplink carrier identifier indicates that one of the first set of carriers or the second set of carriers is used.
27 . The BS of claim 25 , wherein the message of the RACH procedure is a first message of the RACH procedure,
wherein the RA-RNTI is for a second message of the RACH procedure, and wherein the second message of the RACH procedure is a random access response of the RACH procedure.

wherein the message of the RACH procedure is a random access preamble, and wherein the RA-RNTI is associated with a transmission of the random access preamble.
29 . A method of wireless communication performed by a base station (BS), comprising:
receiving a message of a random access channel (RACH) procedure; and transmitting information including a grant, wherein at least part of the information is scrambled using a random access radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI) that is associated with whether a first set of carriers or a second set of carriers is used for the RACH procedure.
