Combination coffee table/workout bench

Abstract

A coffee table workout bench assembly, including a coffee table portion and a pivotably connected workout bench extension portion. The coffee table portion, further includes a rectangular frame portion defining a first pair of spaced parallel elongated members operationally connected to a second pair of spaced elongated members, a plurality of leg members operationally connected to and extending from the frame portion, a pivot rod extending between two respective leg members, a table top member pivotably connected to the frame portion, and a flange connected to the frame portion. The bench extension portion further includes a pair of spaced elongated bench extension support members, each respective bench extension support member pivotably connected to the pivot rod, a bench top member operationally connected to the pair of spaced elongated bench extension support members, a pair of bench leg members, each respective bench leg member pivotably connected to and extending from a respective elongated bench extension member.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A coffee table workout bench assembly, comprising:
 a coffee table portion, further comprising:
 a rectangular frame portion defining a first pair of spaced parallel elongated members operationally connected to a second pair of spaced elongated members; 
 a plurality of leg members operationally connected to and extending from the frame portion; 
 a pivot rod extending between two respective leg members; 
 a table top member pivotably connected to the frame portion; and 
 a flange connected to the frame portion; and 
   a bench extension portion pivotably connected to the coffee table portion and further comprising:
 a pair of spaced elongated bench extension support members, each respective bench extension support member pivotably connected to the pivot rod; 
 a bench top member operationally connected to the pair of spaced elongated bench extension support members; 
 a pair of bench leg members, each respective bench leg member pivotably connected to and extending from a respective elongated bench extension member. 
   
     
     
         2 . The coffee table workout bench assembly of  claim 1  and further comprising a locking member operationally connected to at least one respective bench leg member and to at least on respective elongated bench extension support member. 
     
     
         3 . The coffee table workout bench assembly of  claim 1  and further comprising a skirt member connected to the bench extension portion. 
     
     
         4 . The coffee table workout bench assembly of  claim 1  wherein each respective bench leg member is hingedly connected to a respective elongated bench extension member. 
     
     
         5 . The coffee table workout bench assembly of  claim 1  and further comprising a storage shelf spaced from the table top member and operationally connected to the respective leg members. 
     
     
         6 . The coffee table workout bench assembly of  claim 1  and further comprising a plurality of side panels, each respective side panel operationally connected to two respective leg members and extending therebetween. 
     
     
         7 . The coffee table workout bench assembly of  claim 1  and further comprising a locking member operationally connected to at least one respective bench leg member and to at least one respective elongated bench extension support member; a skirt member connected to the bench extension portion; a storage shelf spaced from the table top member and operationally connected to the respective leg members; and a plurality of side panels, each respective side panel operationally connected to two respective leg members and extending therebetween; wherein each respective bench leg member is hingedly connected to a respective elongated bench extension member. 
     
     
         8 . A coffee table workout bench apparatus, comprising:
 a rectangular frame portion defining a first pair of spaced parallel elongated members operationally connected to a second pair of spaced elongated parallel members;   a plurality of leg members operationally connected to and extending from the frame portion;   a pivot rod extending between two respective leg members;   a table top member pivotably connected to the rectangular frame portion;   a flange connected to the frame portion;   a pair of spaced elongated bench extension support members, each respective bench extension support member pivotably connected to the pivot rod;   a bench top member operationally connected to the pair of spaced elongated bench extension support members;   a pair of bench leg members, each respective bench leg member pivotably connected to and extending from a respective elongated bench extension member;   a locking member operationally connected to at least one respective bench leg member and to at least on respective elongated bench extension support member;   a skirt member connected to the bench extension portion;   a storage shelf spaced from the table top member and operationally connected to the respective leg members; and   a plurality of side panels, each respective side panel operationally connected to two respective leg members and extending therebetween;   wherein each respective bench leg member is hingedly connected to a respective elongated bench extension member.
