Abstract
A method for managing beam groups performed by a terminal, a terminal, and an apparatus are provided. The method includes the following. Receive at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value from a base station. Assign multiple beams into at least one beam group based on the at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for managing beam groups performed by a terminal, the method comprising:
receiving at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value from a base station; and assigning a plurality of beams into at least one beam group based on the at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving, by the terminal, the at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value comprises:
receiving, by the terminal, the at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value through one of a primary synchronization signal, a secondary synchronization signal, a physical broadcast channel, a beam reference signal, a third synchronization signal, or a mobility/measurement reference signal in new radio (NR), or one or more signals in system information, or relative positions of time-frequency resources between the above one or more signals.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one of the received signal strength deviation value or the received signal quality deviation value are the same on the same carrier frequency.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: selecting from the at least one beam group, a beam having a strongest received signal strength or a highest received signal quality; and using the beam having the strongest received signal strength or the highest received signal quality for at least one of calculating a cell measurement quality or carrying out measurement reporting.
5 . A terminal, comprising a processor, and a memory, wherein the memory stores instructions executable by the processor, and the instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
receive at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value from a base station; and assign a plurality of beams into at least one beam group based on the at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value.
6 . The terminal of claim 5 , wherein the instructions caused the processor to receive the at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value further cause the processor to:
receive the at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value through one of a primary synchronization signal, a secondary synchronization signal, a physical broadcast channel, a beam reference signal, a third synchronization signal, or a mobility/measurement reference signal in new radio (NR), or one or more signals in system information, or relative positions of time-frequency resources between the above one or more signals.
7 . The terminal of claim 5 , wherein the at least one of the received signal strength deviation value or the received signal quality deviation value are the same on the same carrier frequency.
8 . The terminal of claim 5 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to: select from the at least one beam group, a beam having a strongest received signal strength or a highest received signal quality; and use the beam having the strongest received signal strength or the highest received signal quality for at least one of calculating a cell measurement quality or carrying out measurement reporting.
9 . An apparatus, comprising:
a processor; a memory; and a transceiver; wherein the processor is configured to: cause the transceiver to receive at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value from a base station; and assign a plurality of beams into at least one beam group based on the at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value.
10 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the transceiver receive the at least one of received signal strength deviation value or received signal quality deviation value through one of a primary synchronization signal, a secondary synchronization signal, a physical broadcast channel, a beam reference signal, a third synchronization signal, or a mobility/measurement reference signal in new radio (NR), or one or more signals in system information, or relative positions of time-frequency resources between the above one or more signals.
11 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the at least one of the received signal strength deviation value or the received signal quality deviation value are the same on the same carrier frequency.
12 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to: select from the at least one beam group, a beam having a strongest received signal strength or a highest received signal quality; and use the beam having the strongest received signal strength or the highest received signal quality for at least one of calculating a cell measurement quality or carrying out measurement reporting.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
