Methods and Apparatus for the Formation of Hair

Abstract

Methods and apparatus for the formation of hair may involve a wearable hair form. A self-aligning trough of the distal end of the wearable hair form may be configured to receive a portion of the wearer's hair therein and to allow such portion to extend freely beyond such distal end. The distal end may be configured to receive a concealment wrap, and embodiments may involve concealing some or all of the wearable hair form by the concealment wrap in whole or in part. A bridge portion of the wearable hair form may create an angle between the proximal end and the distal end of the wearable hair form. The wearable hair form may be particularly suited for use with such portion of the wearer's hair gathered into a ponytail or ponytail-like shape.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A wearable hair form apparatus comprising:
 a proximal end of a wearable hair form configured for placement facing toward a wearer's head;   a distal end of said wearable hair form configured for placement facing away from said wearer's head;   at least one fastener of said proximal end of said wearable hair form configured to securely engage said proximal end of said wearable hair form to a first portion of said wearer's hair;   a self-aligning trough of said distal end of said wearable hair form configured to receive a second portion of said wearer's hair therein and configured to allow said second portion of said wearer's hair to extend freely beyond said distal end of said wearable hair form.   
     
     
         2 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 1  wherein said distal end of said wearable hair form comprises a distal end configured to receive a concealment wrap. 
     
     
         3 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 2  wherein said concealment wrap comprises a third portion of said wearer's hair. 
     
     
         4 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 2  wherein said concealment wrap comprises a concealment wrap accessory. 
     
     
         5 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 4  wherein said concealment wrap accessory comprises a hair match accessory. 
     
     
         6 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 5  wherein said hair match accessory comprises a hair match accessory selected from the group consisting of a hair color match accessory and a hair texture match accessory. 
     
     
         7 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 4  wherein said concealment wrap accessory comprises a concealment wrap accessory joined to said distal end of said wearable hair form. 
     
     
         8 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 7  wherein said concealment wrap accessory jointed to said distal end of said wearable hair form comprises a concealment wrap accessory removably joined to said distal end of said wearable hair form at at least one attachment point. 
     
     
         9 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 8  wherein said concealment wrap accessory removably joined to said distal end of said wearable hair form at at least one attachment point comprises a concealment wrap accessory removably joined to said distal end of said wearable hair form with Velcro. 
     
     
         10 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 4  wherein said concealment wrap accessory comprises a concealment wrap accessory configured for clockwise or counter-clockwise wrap around said self-aligning trough. 
     
     
         11 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 4  wherein said concealment wrap accessory comprises a concealment wrap accessory configured to substantially completely wrap said distal end of said wearable hair form having said second portion of said wearer's hair received within said self-aligning trough. 
     
     
         12 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 4  wherein said concealment wrap accessory comprises a concealment wrap accessory configured to secure said second portion of said wearer's hair received within said self-aligning trough of said distal end of said wearable hair form. 
     
     
         13 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 2  wherein said wearable hair form comprises a wearable hair form configured to be substantially concealed by said first portion of said wearer's hair securely engaged to said proximal end of said wearable hair form, by said second portion of said wearer's hair received within said self-aligning trough of said distal end of said wearable hair form, and by said concealment wrap received by said distal end of said wearable hair form. 
     
     
         14 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 4  wherein said concealment wrap accessory comprises a concealment wrap accessory removably joined to said distal end of said wearable hair form at at least one attachment point and configured for concealment of said at least one attachment point, for at least a first 360 degree orthogonal wrap of said distal end of said wearable hair form, for at least a second 180 degree orthogonal wrap of said distal end of said wearable hair form, and for pivot to substantially align with said distal end wearable hair form. 
     
     
         15 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 1  wherein said self-aligning trough comprises a self-aligning trough oriented along a length of said distal end of said wearable hair form. 
     
     
         16 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 15  wherein said self-aligning trough comprises a self-aligning trough configured to receive said second portion of said wearer's hair within said self-aligning trough from above and support said second portion of said wearer's hair within said self-aligning trough from below. 
     
     
         17 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 16  wherein said self-aligning trough configured to support said second portion of said wearer's hair within said self-aligning trough from below comprises a self-aligning trough configured to support said second portion of said wearer's hair within an arc length of up to 180 degrees. 
     
     
         18 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 15  wherein said self-aligning trough comprises a self-aligning trough configured to support said second portion of said wearer's hair substantially in place within said self-aligning trough by gravity. 
     
     
         19 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 15  wherein said self-aligning trough comprises a substantially U-shaped self-aligning trough. 
     
     
         20 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 15  wherein said self-aligning trough comprises a substantially tubular self-aligning trough open at the top. 
     
     
         21 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 15  wherein said self-aligning trough comprises left and right sides that taper upward in a direction oriented from said proximal end of said wearable hair form to said distal end of said wearable hair form. 
     
     
         22 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 15  wherein said self-aligning trough comprises a continuous curved self-aligning trough piece. 
     
     
         23 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 15  wherein said self-aligning trough comprises a trough configured to align said second portion of said wearer's hair between left and right sides of said trough. 
     
     
         24 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 15  wherein said self-aligning trough comprises a trough configured to align said second portion of said wearer's hair at the bottom of said trough. 
     
     
         25 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 1  further comprising a bridge portion of said wearable hair form forming a fixed angle between said proximal end of said wearable hair form and said distal end of said wearable hair form. 
     
     
         26 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 25  wherein said bridge portion comprises a section of said distal end of said wearable hair form received within a section of said proximal end of said wearable hair form to form said bridge portion. 
     
     
         27 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 25  wherein said bridge portion comprises a section of said proximal end of said wearable hair form received within a section of said distal end of said wearable hair form to form said bridge portion. 
     
     
         28 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 25  wherein said fixed angle comprises an angle from 0 degrees to 90 degrees. 
     
     
         29 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 25  wherein said fixed angle comprises an angle of 80 degrees. 
     
     
         30 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 25  wherein said fixed angle comprises an angle of 60 degrees. 
     
     
         31 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 25  wherein said fixed angle comprises an angle of 40 degrees. 
     
     
         32 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 1  further comprising a bridge portion of said wearable hair form forming an adjustable angle between said proximal end of said wearable hair form and said distal end of said wearable hair form. 
     
     
         33 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 32  wherein said adjustable angle comprises an angle configured to be adjusted from 0 degrees to 90 degrees. 
     
     
         34 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 33  wherein said bridge portion comprises a hinge. 
     
     
         35 . A wearable hair form apparatus as described in  claim 1  wherein said fastener comprises a comb having a plurality of teeth.
