Machine tool

Abstract

This machine tool comprises: a saddle which moves relative to a bed in a first direction; a table which moves relative to the saddle in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction; and a first clamp member which is fixed to the bed and the table and fixes the relative position of the bed and the table.

1 . A machine tool that machines a workpiece using a tool, the machine tool comprising:
 a saddle configured to move relative to a bed in a first direction;   a table configured to move relative to the saddle in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction; and   a first clamp member configured to be fixed to the bed and the table and thereby fix a relative position between the bed and the table.   
     
     
         2 . The machine tool according to  claim 1 , wherein
 the machine tool is a wire electrical discharge machine that machines the workpiece by generating an electrical discharge at an electrode gap between a wire electrode and the workpiece in a working fluid,   the machine tool further comprising:   a UV-axis saddle configured to move relative to a column disposed so as to stand on the bed, in a third direction;   a UV-axis table configured to move relative to the UV-axis saddle in a fourth direction orthogonal to the third direction;   a quill configured to move relative to the UV-axis table in a fifth direction orthogonal to the first direction and to the second direction;   a second clamp member configured to be fixed to the column and the UV-axis table and thereby fix a relative position between the column and the UV-axis table; and   a third clamp member configured to be fixed to the second clamp member and the quill and thereby fix a relative position of the quill with respect to the second clamp member.   
     
     
         3 . The machine tool according to  claim 2 , wherein
 the first direction and the third direction are a same direction, and the second direction and the fourth direction are a same direction.
