Abstract

Method and system for displaying an orthodontic related image including one or more image segments, selecting one or more movement indicators associated with a corresponding one or more of the image segments, and dynamically displaying a modified orthodontic related image based on the selected one or more movement indicators are provided.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . (canceled)

         2 . A computer-implemented method for dynamic validation, the method comprising:
 displaying a first orthodontic-related image at on a display unit, the orthodontic-related image including one or more image segments comprising a visual representation of teeth positions; receiving one or more teeth selections from an input device; providing a dynamic validation of an orthodontic condition for the selected one or more teeth by displaying a second image segment corresponding to the selected tooth from the first orthodontic-related image on the display unit, wherein the second image segment indicates an orthodontic condition comprising one or more of: a crossbite condition of the selected tooth, an underbite, an overbite, an overjet, spacing or crowding, an arch shape, incisor profile, an inclination of posterior of upper or lower arch, a bicuspid or cuspid rotation, and/or a midline discrepancy.

         3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising detecting a selection of a movement indicator from the first orthodontic-related image and modifying the display of the second image segment to include an orthodontic arrangement associated with the selected movement indicator.

         4 . The method of claim 3 , further wherein modifying the display comprises repositioning the image segment or tooth corresponding to the selected one or more movement indicators in a direction associated with the selected movement indicator.

         5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein receiving comprises receiving a selection from a computer mouse, keyboard, or a touchpad input device of a computer terminal.

         6 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising receiving the orthodontic condition.

         7 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the second image segment includes an expanded image of the orthodontic condition for the selected one of the one or more image segments.

         8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the expanded image includes a thumbnail image.

         9 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the selected one of the one or more image segments includes a tooth image of the selected tooth.

         10 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the expanded image displays the second image segment of the selected tooth associated with the orthodontic condition in relative spatial relationship with one or more teeth images in close proximity to the selected tooth.

         11 . The method of claim 2 , wherein displaying the second image segment comprises displaying a close up view of the selected tooth with a predetermined malocclusion displayed.

         12 . An apparatus comprising:
 an input device; and a display unit operatively coupled to the input device, the display unit configured to:
 display a first orthodontic-related image at on a display unit, the orthodontic-related image including one or more image segments comprising a visual representation of teeth positions;
 receive, via the input device, a selection of one or more teeth;
 provide a dynamic validation of an orthodontic condition for the selected one or more teeth by displaying a second image segment corresponding to the selected tooth from the first orthodontic-related image on the display unit, wherein the second image segment indicates an orthodontic condition comprising one or more of: a crossbite condition of the selected tooth, an underbite, an overbite, an overjet, spacing or crowding, an arch shape, incisor profile, an inclination of posterior of upper or lower arch, a bicuspid or cuspid rotation, and/or a midline discrepancy.

         13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the display unit receives a selection of a movement indicator from the first orthodontic-related image and modifies the display of the second image segment to include an orthodontic arrangement associated with the selected movement indicator.

         14 . The system of claim 13 , further wherein the display unit modifies the display by repositioning the image segment or tooth corresponding to the selected one or more movement indicators in a direction associated with the selected movement indicator.

         15 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the display unit receives the selection from a computer mouse, keyboard, or a touchpad input device of a computer terminal.

         16 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the display unit receives the orthodontic condition.

         17 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the second image segment includes an expanded image of the orthodontic condition for the selected one of the one or more image segments.

         18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the expanded image includes a thumbnail image.

         19 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the selected one of the one or more image segments includes a tooth image of the selected tooth.

         20 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the expanded image displays the second image segment of the selected tooth associated with the orthodontic condition in relative spatial relationship with one or more teeth images in close proximity to the selected tooth.

         21 . The system of claim 17 , wherein displaying the second image segment comprises displaying a close up view of the selected tooth with a predetermined malocclusion displayed.
