Adding a contact to a home screen
Abstract
An icon can be created for a contact (e.g., an individual(s) or an entity) and presented on a user interface of a mobile device, such as a “home screen.” The icon can be used to retrieve and display contact information. The icon can also be used to invoke one or more applications that are personalized to the contact. The icon can be modified to display information related to the contact. In one aspect, an icon associated with an entity can be temporarily displayed on the mobile device based on the proximity of the mobile device to the entity. The icon can be used to retrieve and display information related to the entity. Additionally, the icon can be removed from the display on the mobile device when the mobile device is no longer within a certain proximity of the entity.
Claims

2 . A method, comprising:
at an electronic device in communication with a display and one or more input devices: receiving, via one or more input devices, a first input corresponding to a request for displaying information associated with a first entity, wherein the information associated the first entity is retrieved from a plurality of applications installed on the electronic device; and in response to receiving the first input, displaying, via the display, a first user interface including a plurality of user interface objects associated with the information associated with the first entity, including:
first information associated with the first entity that is retrieved from a first application of the plurality of applications; and
second information associated with the first entity that is retrieved from a second application of the plurality of applications.
3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
receiving, via the one or more input devices, a second input corresponding to a request for displaying information associated with a second entity, different from the first entity, wherein the information associated the second entity is retrieved from a plurality of applications installed on the electronic device; and in response to receiving the second input, displaying, via the display, a second user interface including a plurality of user interface objects associated with the information associated with the second entity, including:
third information associated with the second entity that is retrieved from a third application of the plurality of applications; and
fourth information associated with the second entity that is retrieved from a fourth application of the plurality of applications.
4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the plurality of user interface objects include:
a first selectable affordance that is associated with the first information and is selectable to display a user interface of the first application including a user interface element associated with the first information; and a second selectable affordance that is associated with the second information and is selectable to display a user interface of the second application including a user interface element associated with the second information.
5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising:
receiving, via the one or more input devices, a second input corresponding to a selection of the first selectable affordance; in response to receiving the second input, displaying the user interface of the first application including the user interface element associated with the second information; receiving, via the one or more input devices, a third input corresponding to a selection of the second selectable affordance; and in response to receiving the third input, displaying the user interface of the second application including the user interface element associated with the second information.
6 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising:
in response to receiving the second input or the third input, ceasing display of the first user interface.
7 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the first user interface is overlaid on a home screen user interface of the electronic device.
8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein:
the first information associated with the first entity is personalized to the first entity; and the second information associated with the first entity is personalized to the first entity.
9 . The method of claim 2 , wherein displaying the first user interface includes:
in accordance with a determination that respective information associated with a respective application and the first entity is available, displaying an indication of the respective information in the first user interface. and in accordance with a determination that the respective information associated with the respective application and the first entity is not available, forgoing displaying an indication of the respective information in the first user interface.
10 . An electronic device comprising:
one or more processors; memory; and one or more programs, wherein the one or more programs are stored in the memory and configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:
receiving, via one or more input devices, a first input corresponding to a request for displaying information associated with a first entity, wherein the information associated the first entity is retrieved from a plurality of applications installed on the electronic device; and
in response to receiving the first input, displaying, via a display, a first user interface including a plurality of user interface objects associated with the information associated with the first entity, including:
first information associated with the first entity that is retrieved from a first application of the plurality of applications; and
second information associated with the first entity that is retrieved from a second application of the plurality of applications.
11 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs, the one or more programs comprising instructions, which when executed by one or more processors of an electronic device, cause the electronic device to:
receive, via one or more input devices, a first input corresponding to a request for displaying information associated with a first entity, wherein the information associated the first entity is retrieved from a plurality of applications installed on the electronic device; and in response to receiving the first input, display, via a display, a first user interface including a plurality of user interface objects associated with the information associated with the first entity, including:
first information associated with the first entity that is retrieved from a first application of the plurality of applications; and
second information associated with the first entity that is retrieved from a second application of the plurality of applications.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
