Lobed buffing wheel
Abstract
The invention relates to the machining of materials and can be used for removing flaws from various surfaces, particularly from housings, sheets and cast parts, as well as for removing coatings and rust. A lobed buffing wheel comprises lobes of a buffing material that includes an abrasive material on an elastic substrate, said lobes being fastened to a drive shaft. The lobes of buffing material are created from flat geometric shapes that are bent with the abrasive material facing outward to form a three-dimensional shape, and are fastened to the drive shaft by the bent fastening side. This provides for more efficient buffing of complex-shaped parts by increasing the area of contact between the buffing surfaces and the part.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A lobed buffing wheel containing lobes of a grinding material, the wheel comprising:
an abrasive material on an elastic substrate, fixed on one side by a fixing side—on the drive shaft, wherein the lobes of the grinding material are made of flat geometric shapes, bent outward by the abrasive material to form a three-dimensional shape and fixed to the drive shaft by the bent fixing side.
2 . The lobed buffing wheel according to claim 1 , wherein the lobes of the grinding material are made of flat geometric shapes having an axis of symmetry perpendicular to the fixing side, bent outward by the abrasive material along the axis of symmetry to form a three-dimensional figure and fixed to the drive shaft by the fixing side bent in half.
3 . The lobed buffing wheel according to claim 1 , wherein the lobes of the grinding material are placed evenly on the drive shaft with partial overlap.
4 . The lobed buffing wheel according to claim 1 , wherein the lobes of the grinding material are fixed to the drive shaft with washers and nuts.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
