Abstract
Personal sanitizing headwear comprising a body adapted to fit onto a head of a user and an extended portion attached to the body and adapted for extending proximate a face of the user when the user is wearing the personal sanitizing headwear. The personal sanitizing headwear also includes one or more UV-C sources attached to a lower surface of the extended portion for directing UV-C radiation toward the mouth and/or nose of the user, wherein the one or more UV-C sources are adapted for sanitizing air in the proximity of the mouth and/or nose of the user.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A personal sanitizing hat comprising:
a body configured to cover at least a portion of a head of a user; a bill attached to the body and configured for extending forward above a face of the user when the user is wearing the personal sanitizing hat; one or more UV-C sources attached to a lower surface of the bill for directing UV-C radiation in a downward direction from the bill, wherein the one or more UV-C sources are configured for sanitizing air in the proximity of a mouth and/or a nose of the user of the personal sanitizing hat; an electrical cable; and a rechargeable battery for powering the one or more UV-C sources through the electrical cable.
2 . The personal sanitizing hat of claim 1 further comprising an electrical switch for selectively activating the personal sanitizing hat and a status indicator for indicating an operational status of the personal sanitizing hat.
3 . The personal sanitizing hat of claim 1 wherein the personal sanitizing hat does not cover the nose or the mouth of the wearer in operation and does not include a membrane or filter.
4 . The personal sanitizing hat of claim 1 wherein the personal sanitizing hat does not include an enclosed channel through which the air must pass for sanitization.
5 . The personal sanitizing hat of claim 1 wherein the one or more UV-C sources are removably attachable to the bill.
6 . The personal sanitizing hat of claim 1 wherein the rechargeable battery is attached to the body of the hat.
7 . Personal sanitizing headwear comprising:
a body adapted to fit onto a head of a user; an extended portion attached to the body and adapted for extending from the body proximate a face of the user when the user is wearing the personal sanitizing headwear; one or more UV-C sources attached to a lower surface of the extended portion for directing UV-C radiation toward the mouth and/or nose of the user, wherein the one or more UV-C sources are adapted for sanitizing air in the proximity of the mouth and/or nose of the user; and a battery adapted for powering the one or more UV-C sources.
8 . The personal sanitizing headwear of claim 7 further comprising an electrical switch for selectively activating the personal sanitizing headwear and a status indicator for indicating an operational status of the personal sanitizing headwear.
9 . The personal sanitizing headwear of claim 7 wherein the personal sanitizing headwear does not directly cover the nose or the mouth of the wearer in operation and does not include a membrane or filter.
10 . The personal sanitizing headwear of claim 7 wherein the personal sanitizing headwear does not include an enclosed channel through which the air must pass for sanitization.
11 . The personal sanitizing headwear of claim 7 wherein the headwear is a hat.
12 . The personal sanitizing headwear of claim 11 wherein the extended portion is a bill of the hat.
13 . The personal sanitizing headwear of claim 7 wherein the one or more UV-C sources are removably attachable to the extended portion.
14 . The personal sanitizing headwear of claim 7 wherein the battery is attached to the body of the headwear.
15 . The personal sanitizing headwear of claim 7 wherein the one or more UV-C sources includes a light emitting diode.
16 . The personal sanitizing headwear of claim 7 wherein the battery is rechargeable.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
