Tie attachment devices and methods

Abstract

A connecting device having a tie having a tie knot situated adjacent a throat and a shell that extends downwardly from the tie knot. The connecting device further has a longitudinal loop coupled to a back side of the tie knot and a circular slap neck band inserted through the longitudinal loop, the circular slap neck band extends around a person's neck securing the tie to a shirt worn by the person.

What I claim is: 
     
         1 . A connecting device, comprising:
 a tie having a tie knot situated adjacent a throat and a shell that extends downwardly from the tie knot;   a longitudinal loop coupled to a back side of the tie knot; and   a circular slap neck band inserted through the longitudinal loop, the circular slap neck band extends around a person's neck securing the tie to a shirt worn by the person.   
     
     
         2 . The connecting device of  claim 1 , wherein the longitudinal loop is sewn to the back side of the tie know. 
     
     
         3 . The connecting device of  claim 1 , wherein the longitudinal loop is coupled to the tie knot via a fastener. 
     
     
         4 . The connecting device of  claim 1 , wherein the circular slap neck band has a first end and a second end. 
     
     
         5 . The connecting device of  claim 4 , wherein the first end overlaps the second end when the circular slap neck band is secured fully to the tie knot thereby securing the tie to the person's shirt. 
     
     
         6 . The connecting device of  claim 1 , wherein the slap neck band is made of bistable spring steel that allows for both curling and straightening out. 
     
     
         7 . The connecting device of  claim 6 , wherein the slap neck band is made of stainless steel. 
     
     
         8 . The connecting device of  claim 1 , wherein the slap neck band is rectangular when extended.
