Smoking Article and Method for Manufacturing a Smoking Article
Abstract
The invention relates to a smoking article having a cylindrical shape with a longitudinal axis running through respective base areas of a distal end and a mouth end of the smoking article. The smoking article segments are at least in part wrapped in a circumferential wrapper and arranged subsequently in from the distal to the mouth end as follows: a. a tobacco segment comprising tobacco or tobacco derived smokable material, b. a cooling segment having a first flow path from the tobacco segment to a filter segment, c. the filter segment comprising a second flow path from the cooling segment to the mouth end. The filter segment comprises a tobacco product including tobacco particles having an average particle size of 30 μm and a dispersion medium for dispersing the tobacco particles. The invention also comprises a method for manufacturing such a smoking article.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A smoking article comprising a cylindrical shape with a longitudinal axis running through respective base areas of a distal end and a mouth end of the smoking article, wherein the smoking article comprises segments that are at least in part wrapped in a circumferential wrapper, the segments being arranged in order from the distal end to the mouth end as follows:
a. a tobacco segment comprising tobacco or tobacco derived smokable material, b. a cooling segment having a first flow path from the tobacco segment to a filter segment, c. the filter segment comprising a second flow path from the cooling segment to the mouth end, wherein the filter segment comprises a tobacco product comprising tobacco particles having an average particle size of 30 μm and a dispersion medium for dispersing the tobacco particles.
2 . The smoking article according to claim 1 , wherein
at least one part of the filter segment-comprises a hollow cylinder shape having an inner lateral area enclosing a through-hole through which the second flow path is arranged, wherein the second flow path is parallel to the longitudinal axis, and wherein the inner lateral area is at least in part coated with the tobacco product.
3 . The smoking article according to claim 2 , wherein
a bonding agent is arranged between the inner lateral area and the tobacco product.
4 . The smoking article according to claim 1 , wherein
at least one part of the filter segment is a filter rod having an inner volume, wherein the tobacco product is arranged in the inner volume of the filter rod.
5 . The smoking article according to claim 4 , wherein
the tobacco product is uniformly distributed within a first cylindrically shaped section of the filter rod and the tobacco product has a diameter equal to a diameter of the filter rod.
6 . The smoking article according to claim 5 , wherein
a second cylindrically shaped section of the filter rod not comprising the tobacco product has a diameter equal to the filter rod, and the second cylindrically shaped section is arranged between the first section and the mouth end of the smoking article.
7 . The smoking article according to claim 1 , wherein
at least one part of the filter segment is a filter rod having an inner volume, wherein at least one thread comprising the tobacco product is arranged in the inner volume of a first cylindrically shaped section of the filter rod, and wherein the first cylindrically shaped section has a diameter equal to a diameter the filter rod.
8 . The smoking article according to claim 7 , wherein
a second cylindrically shaped section of the filter rod not comprising the thread and having a diameter equal to the diameter of the filter rod is arranged between the first section and the mouth end of the smoking article.
9 . A method for manufacturing a smoking article, wherein a tobacco segment comprising tobacco or tobacco derived smokable material, a cooling segment comprising a first flow path and a filter segment comprising a second flow path are arranged in order on a longitudinal axis from a distal end to a mouth end of the smoking article, and the tobacco segment, the cooling segment, and the filter segment are at least in part wrapped in a circumferential wrapper thereby forming the smoking article having a cylindrical shape, wherein the first flow path connects the tobacco segment with the filter segment and the second flow path connects the cooling segment with the mouth end, wherein
before arranging the filter segment next to the cooling segment a tobacco product comprising tobacco particles having an average particle size of 30 μm and a dispersion medium for dispersing the tobacco particles is arranged in the filter segment.
10 . The method according to claim 9 , wherein
at least one part of the filter segment is a hollow cylinder having an inner lateral area, and wherein the tobacco product is arranged on at least a part of the inner lateral area by coating.
11 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein
before coating the inner lateral area with the tobacco product, the filter segment is at least in part coated with a bonding agent.
12 . The method according to claim 9 , wherein
the tobacco product is arranged on the filter material of at least a part of the filter segment by spraying, wherein the filter material is afterwards formed into the filter segment, which is subsequently arranged next to the cooling segment.
13 . The method according to claim 9 , wherein
the tobacco product is arranged on a thread, wherein the thread is then arranged on the filter material of at least a part of the filter segment which is afterwards formed into the filter segment, which is subsequently arranged next to the cooling segment.
14 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein
the tobacco product is arranged on the thread by soaking the thread in the liquid tobacco product.
15 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein
the tobacco product is arranged on the thread by spraying the liquid tobacco product onto the thread.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
