A method and system are disclosed for placing a bet via the Internet on a computing device. The bet is placed by a player using the computing device and received by a backend system over a link using a single action methodology.
Claims

. The method of claim 1 wherein the multiple different betting opportunities are all displayed on the user interface at the same time.
. The method of claim 2 wherein the multiple different betting opportunities are each displayed on different locations of the user interface.
. The method of claim 1 wherein the additional information comprises location information related to the user, and further wherein the validating credentials of the user requires determining, at the backend system, whether the selected betting opportunity is legal in a jurisdiction identified by the location information related to the user.
. The method of claim 1 wherein each different betting opportunity is associated with a different amount of funds.
. The method of claim 1 wherein the user interface displays a re-bet opportunity identifying a second bet with the same information as the selected betting opportunity following the bet being placed.
. The method of claim 1 wherein the single action of the user is clicking a button on the user interface associated with one of the multiple different betting opportunities.

. An apparatus for placing a bet for a game comprising:
a computing device having a display that displays information identifying multiple different betting opportunities, the display having a user interface that receives a single action of a user identifying a selected betting opportunity, said selected betting opportunity being one of the multiple different betting opportunities, the computing device configured to send a request to place the bet on the selected betting opportunity along with additional information previously stored for the user without further action from the user; a backend system configured to receive the request and the additional information from the computing the device, the backend system further configured to validate the credentials of the user and place a bet described by the request if and only if the user's credentials are validated successfully, the backend system further configured to hold an amount of funds belonging to the user in escrow, said amount of funds corresponding to the selected betting opportunity.
. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein the multiple different betting opportunities are all displayed on the user interface at the same time.
. The apparatus of claim 10 wherein the multiple different betting opportunities are each displayed on different locations of the user interface.
. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein the additional information comprises location information related to the user, and further wherein the validating credentials of the user requires determining, at the backend system, whether the selected betting opportunity is legal in a jurisdiction identified by the location information related to the user.
. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein each different betting opportunity is associated with a different amount of funds.
. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein the display is configured to display a re-bet opportunity identifying a second bet with the same information as the selected betting opportunity following the bet being placed.
. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein the single action of the user is clicking a button on the user interface associated with one of the multiple different betting opportunities.
. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein the single action of the user is the speaking of a sound.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
