Claims

Abstract

A touch panel with higher sensing accuracy or higher detection sensitivity is provided. The touch panel includes a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer, a plurality of display elements, and a scan line. In a plan view, the first conductive layer has an outline including a first portion that is linear and parallel to a first direction. In the plan view, the second conductive layer has an outline including a second portion that is linear and parallel to the first direction. The first portion and the second portion face each other. The display element is in a position not overlapping with the first conductive layer nor the second conductive layer. The scan line has a portion extending in a second direction. An angle between the first direction and the second direction is greater than or equal to 300 and less than or equal to 60°.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A display device comprising:
 a display portion including a plurality of scan lines and a plurality of electroluminescent elements; and   a touch sensor including a conductive layer, over the display portion,   wherein the conductive layer includes a plurality of rhombic openings whose one side extends in a first direction,   wherein at least one of the plurality of rhombic openings overlaps one of light-emitting regions of the plurality of electroluminescent elements,   wherein each of the plurality of scan lines has a region extending in a second direction crossing a longitudinal direction of the display device,   wherein an angle between the first direction and the second direction is greater than or equal to 300 and less than or equal to 60°, and   wherein the conductive layer does not overlap the light-emitting regions.   
     
     
         2 . The display device according to  claim 1 , wherein the angle between the first direction and the second direction is greater than or equal to 400 and less than or equal to 50°. 
     
     
         3 . The display device according to  claim 1 , wherein the display device is incorporated in one selected from the group consisting of a mobile phone, a television set, a lighting device, a wrist watch, an automobile, a portable game machine, a personal computer, a camera, and a head-mounted display. 
     
     
         4 . A display device comprising:
 a display portion including a plurality of scan lines and a plurality of electroluminescent elements; and   a touch sensor including a conductive layer, over the display portion,   wherein the conductive layer includes a plurality of rhombic openings whose one side extends in a first direction,   wherein at least one of the plurality of rhombic openings overlaps one of light-emitting regions of the plurality of electroluminescent elements,   wherein each of the plurality of scan lines has a region extending in a second direction crossing a longitudinal direction of the display device,   wherein an angle between the first direction and the second direction is greater than or equal to 300 and less than or equal to 60°,   wherein each of the plurality of electroluminescent elements includes a first electrode, an electroluminescent layer over the first electrode, and a second electrode over the electroluminescent layer,   wherein an insulating layer is disposed over the first electrode and under the electroluminescent layer,   wherein the insulating layer includes a plurality of openings overlapping the plurality of electroluminescent elements, respectively, and   wherein the conductive layer does not overlap the plurality of openings of the insulating layer.   
     
     
         5 . The display device according to  claim 4 , wherein the angle between the first direction and the second direction is greater than or equal to 400 and less than or equal to 50°. 
     
     
         6 . The display device according to  claim 4 , wherein the display device is incorporated in one selected from the group consisting of a mobile phone, a television set, a lighting device, a wrist watch, an automobile, a portable game machine, a personal computer, a camera, and a head-mounted display. 
     
     
         7 . A display device comprising:
 a display portion including a plurality of scan lines and a plurality of electroluminescent elements;   a scan line driver circuit electrically connected to the plurality of scan lines; and   a touch sensor including a conductive layer, over the display portion,   wherein the conductive layer includes a plurality of rhombic openings whose one side extends in a first direction,   wherein at least one of the plurality of rhombic openings overlaps one of light-emitting regions of the plurality of electroluminescent elements,   wherein each of the plurality of scan lines has a region extending in a second direction crossing a longitudinal direction of the display device,   wherein the scan line driver circuit is arranged along the longitudinal direction of the display device,   wherein an angle between the first direction and the second direction is greater than or equal to 300 and less than or equal to 60°, and   wherein the conductive layer does not overlap the light-emitting regions.   
     
     
         8 . The display device according to  claim 7 , wherein the angle between the first direction and the second direction is greater than or equal to 400 and less than or equal to 50°. 
     
     
         9 . The display device according to  claim 7 , wherein the display device is incorporated in one selected from the group consisting of a mobile phone, a television set, a lighting device, a wrist watch, an automobile, a portable game machine, a personal computer, a camera, and a head-mounted display. 
     
     
         10 . A display device comprising:
 a display portion including a plurality of scan lines and a plurality of electroluminescent elements;   a scan line driver circuit electrically connected to the plurality of scan lines; and   a touch sensor including a conductive layer, over the display portion,   wherein the conductive layer includes a plurality of rhombic openings whose one side extends in a first direction,   wherein at least one of the plurality of rhombic openings overlaps one of light-emitting regions of the plurality of electroluminescent elements,   wherein each of the plurality of scan lines has a region extending in a second direction crossing a longitudinal direction of the display device,   wherein the scan line driver circuit is arranged along the longitudinal direction of the display device,   wherein an angle between the first direction and the second direction is greater than or equal to 300 and less than or equal to 60°,   wherein each of the plurality of electroluminescent elements includes a first electrode, an electroluminescent layer over the first electrode, and a second electrode over the electroluminescent layer,   wherein an insulating layer is disposed over the first electrode and under the electroluminescent layer,   wherein the insulating layer includes a plurality of openings overlapping the plurality of electroluminescent elements, respectively, and   wherein the conductive layer does not overlap the plurality of openings of the insulating layer.   
     
     
         11 . The display device according to  claim 10 , wherein the angle between the first direction and the second direction is greater than or equal to 400 and less than or equal to 50°. 
     
     
         12 . The display device according to  claim 10 , wherein the display device is incorporated in one selected from the group consisting of a mobile phone, a television set, a lighting device, a wrist watch, an automobile, a portable game machine, a personal computer, a camera, and a head-mounted display.
