Abstract
Current techniques for rendering content using data on multiple devices are generally ineffective and/or inefficient. This disclosure provides more effective and/or efficient techniques for rendering such content. The techniques optionally complement or replace other methods for rendering content.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method, comprising:
displaying, via a display component, a first frame including a first version of an instrument, wherein the first version has a first appearance in the first frame; while displaying the first version:
connecting to a user device; and
without further user input after connecting to the user device, receiving, from the user device, a user-defined preference for display of the instrument; and
in accordance with the user-defined preference:
rendering a second version of the instrument; and
displaying, via the display component, a second frame including the second version, wherein the second version has a second appearance in the second frame, and wherein the second appearance is different from the first appearance.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
before rendering the second version, sending, to the user device, an identification of a set of one or more layouts; in accordance with a determination that the set of one or more layouts is out of date, receiving, from the user device, a new set of one or more layouts, wherein, after receiving the new set, rendering the second version and displaying the second frame is in accordance with a layout of the new set of one or more layouts; and in accordance with a determination that the set of one or more layouts is up to date, receiving an indication that the set is up to date; wherein after receiving the indication that the set is up to date, rendering the second version and displaying the second frame is in accordance with a layout of the set of one or more layouts.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first version is digital or analog, and wherein the second version is not the same version as the first version.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second version includes a different color as compared to the first version.
5 . The method claim 1 , wherein the second version is located at a different location within a frame from the first version.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
detecting disconnection of the user device, wherein a third version of the instrument is being displayed via the display component immediately before detecting disconnection of the user device; and after detecting disconnection of the user device, displaying a fourth version of the instrument, wherein the fourth version is different from the third version.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
while connected to the user device, detecting, by a sensor, user input; in response to detecting the user input, sending, to the user device, an indication of the user input; after sending the indication of the user input, receiving, from the user device, an indication of a modification corresponding to the instrument, wherein the modification is determined based on the indication of the user input; rendering, based on the indication of the modification, a third frame including the instrument; and displaying, via the display component, the third frame.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the sensor is a physical button, and wherein the user input corresponds to activation of the physical button.
9 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the sensor is a touch-sensitive display, and wherein the user input corresponds to a touch input detected via the touch-sensitive display.
10 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the sensor is a microphone, and wherein the user input corresponds to voice input detected via the microphone.
11 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs configured to be executed by one or more processors of a device in communication with a display component, the one or more programs including instructions for:
displaying, via the display component, a first frame including a first version of an instrument, wherein the first version has a first appearance in the first frame; while displaying the first version:
connecting to a second device different from the device; and
without further user input after connecting to the second device, receiving, from the second device, a user-defined preference for display of the instrument; and
in accordance with the user-defined preference:
rendering a second version of the instrument; and
displaying, via the display component, a second frame including the second version, wherein the second version has a second appearance in the second frame, and wherein the second appearance is different from the first appearance.
12 . A vehicle, comprising:
display component; one or more processors; and memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:
displaying, via the display component, a first frame including a first version of a vehicle instrument, wherein the first version has a first appearance in the first frame;
while displaying the first version:
connecting to a user device different from the vehicle; and
without further user input after connecting to the user device, receiving, from the user device, a user-defined preference for display of the vehicle instrument; and
in accordance with the user-defined preference:
rendering a second version of the vehicle instrument; and
displaying, via the display component, a second frame including the second version, wherein the second version has a second appearance in the second frame, and wherein the second appearance is different from the first appearance.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
