Abstract

In a golf ball having a rubber core of at least one layer and a cover of at least one layer that encases the core, at least one layer of the cover is formed of a resin composition which includes (A) a polyurethane or a polyurea, (B) an alkyl methacrylate/alkyl acrylate copolymer, and (C) a fatty acid amide. The golf ball has an excellent mold releasability during molding of the cover while retaining a good spin rate on approach shots, scuff resistance and paint film durability.

1 . A golf ball comprising a rubber core of at least one layer and a cover of at least one layer that encases the core, wherein at least one layer of the cover is formed of a resin composition comprising:
 (A) a polyurethane or a polyurea,   (B) an alkyl methacrylate/alkyl acrylate copolymer, and   (C) a fatty acid amide.   
     
     
         2 . The golf ball of  claim 1 , wherein the amount of the alkyl methacrylate/alkyl acrylate copolymer included as component B per 100 parts by weight of component A is 1.5 parts by weight or less. 
     
     
         3 . The golf ball of  claim 1 , wherein the amount of the fatty acid amide included as component C per 100 parts by weight of component A is 1.0 part by weight or less. 
     
     
         4 . The golf ball of  claim 1 , wherein the resin composition making up the cover has a material hardness on the Shore D hardness scale of 65 or less. 
     
     
         5 . The golf ball of  claim 1 , wherein the resin composition making up the cover has a rebound resilience, as measured according to JIS-K 6255, which is 65 or less. 
     
     
         6 . The golf ball of  claim 1 , wherein the value obtained by dividing the rebound resilience of the resin composition making up the cover by the material hardness of the resin composition on the Shore D hardness scale is 0.5 or more.
