Abstract

Wound pads for use, e.g., as cavity wound fillers, having at least one incomplete cut being made of a plurality of cut segments and a plurality of connection regions are described. The wound pads can be useful in negative pressure would therapy systems and kits.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 21 . (canceled)

         22 . A unitary open-cell foam article comprising open-cell foam,
wherein the unitary open-cell foam article further comprises a first corner, a second corner, a third corner, a fourth corner, a first perimeter edge, a second perimeter edge, a third perimeter edge, and a fourth perimeter edge that together define a shape and perimeter edge of the wound pad, wherein said first perimeter edge connects the first corner and the second corner, wherein the second perimeter edge connects to the second corner and the third corner, wherein the third perimeter edge connects the third corner and the fourth corner, wherein the fourth perimeter edge connects the fourth corner and the first corner, wherein a structural integrity of the unitary open-cell foam article is solely provided by the open-cell foam of the unitary open-cell foam article, wherein the unitary open-cell foam article further comprises at least one incomplete cut extending from the first perimeter edge to the second perimeter edge, the third perimeter edge, or the fourth perimeter edge, wherein the at least one incomplete cut comprises a plurality of cut segments and a plurality of connection regions, each of the plurality of connection regions being a portion of the open-cell foam of the unitary open-cell foam article, wherein each of the plurality of connection regions extends between adjacent cut segments.

23 . The unitary open-cell foam article of claim 22 , wherein the at least one incomplete cut extends from the first perimeter edge to the second perimeter edge.

24 . The unitary open-cell foam article of claim 22 , wherein the at least one incomplete cut extends from the first perimeter edge to the third perimeter edge.

25 . The unitary open-cell foam article of claim 1 , wherein the unitary open-cell foam article comprises at least two incomplete cuts, wherein a first incomplete cut of the at least two incomplete cuts extends from the first perimeter edge to the second perimeter edge, and wherein a second incomplete cut of the at least two incomplete cuts extends from the first perimeter edge to the third perimeter edge.

26 . The unitary open-cell foam article of claim 22 , wherein the unitary open-cell foam article comprises at least two incomplete cuts, wherein a first incomplete cut of the at least two incomplete cuts extends from the first perimeter edge to the third perimeter edge, and wherein a second incomplete cut of the at least two incomplete cuts extends from the first perimeter edge to the third perimeter edge.

27 . The unitary open-cell foam article of claim 22 , wherein the unitary open-cell foam article comprises at least three incomplete cuts, wherein a first incomplete cut of the at least two incomplete cuts extends from the first perimeter edge to the second perimeter edge, wherein a second incomplete cut of the at least two incomplete cuts extends from the first perimeter edge to the third perimeter edge, and wherein a third incomplete cut of the at least two incomplete cuts extends from the first perimeter edge to the third perimeter edge.

28 . The unitary open-cell foam article of claim 22 , wherein the unitary open-cell foam article comprises at least three incomplete cuts, wherein a first incomplete cut of the at least two incomplete cuts extends from the first perimeter edge to the second perimeter edge, wherein a second incomplete cut of the at least two incomplete cuts extends from the first perimeter edge to the third perimeter edge, and wherein a third incomplete cut of the at least two incomplete cuts extends from the first perimeter edge to the fourth perimeter edge.

29 . The unitary open-cell foam article of claim 22 , wherein each of the first corner, the second corner, the third corner, and the fourth corner is provided as a rounded corner.

30 . The unitary open-cell foam article of claim 22 , wherein the first perimeter edge and the second perimeter edge are straight.

31 . The unitary open-cell foam article of claim 30 , wherein the first perimeter edge and the third perimeter edge are opposite perimeter edges, wherein the second perimeter edge and the fourth perimeter edge are opposite perimeter edges, the perimeter edges of each pair of opposite perimeter edges being substantially parallel with each other and substantially perpendicular to the perimeter edges of the other pair of opposite perimeter edges.

32 . The unitary open-cell foam article of claim 22 , wherein the open-cell foam comprises a polymer foam.

33 . The unitary open-cell foam article of claim 32 , wherein the polymer foam comprises polyurethane foam, polyester foam, polyether foam, polyvinyl alcohol foam, or combinations thereof.

34 . The unitary open-cell foam article of claim 22 , wherein the unitary open-cell foam article consists of open-cell foam.
