Method and apparatus for increasing performance of communication paths for communication nodes
Abstract
A system that incorporates aspects of the subject disclosure may perform operations including, for example, obtaining uplink information associated with a plurality of communication devices transmitting wireless signals on a plurality of uplink paths, performing, based on the uplink information, a plurality of measurements of the plurality of uplink paths, identifying a measurement from the plurality of measurements that is below a threshold, and initiating a corrective action to improve a measurement of an affected uplink path of the plurality of uplink paths based on the identifying. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method comprising:
obtaining, by a system including a processor, uplink information associated with a plurality of communication devices; performing, by the system, a measurement on each of a group of uplink paths according to the uplink information resulting in a group of measurements; determining, by the system, that a first measurement from the group of measurements exceeds a threshold resulting in a determination; and initiating, by the system, corrective action in accordance with the determination.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the threshold comprises an adaptive threshold.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the adaptive threshold is based on an average baseline power level.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the corrective action comprises suppressing one or more interference signals on a first affected uplink from the group of uplink paths.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the first affected uplink path is associated with the first measurement.
6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the suppressing of the one or more interference signals comprises applying frequency filtering to the one or more interference signals.
7 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the suppressing of the one or more interference signals comprises applying spatial filtering to the one or more interference signals.
8 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the suppressing of the one or more interference signals comprises applying polarization selection of wireless signals received by antennas associated with a portion of the group of uplink paths.
9 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the suppressing of the one or more interference signals comprises applying time domain filtering to the one or more interference signals.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the corrective action comprises adjusting a first portion of the plurality of communication devices allowed to transmit wireless signals on a second affected uplink path from the group of uplink paths.
11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the corrective action comprises redirecting a portion of the plurality of communication devices from a third affected uplink path from the group of uplink paths to another uplink path of the group uplink paths.
12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the uplink information identifies a second portion of the plurality of communication devices that transmit in the uplink paths.
13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the uplink information identifies a group of power levels used by the plurality of communication devices while transmitting during one or more assigned resource blocks.
14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the uplink information identifies resource blocks that have been assigned to each communication device in the plurality of communication devices.
15 . A device comprising:
a processing system including a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising: obtaining uplink information associated with a plurality of communication devices;
performing a measurement on each of a group of uplink paths according to the uplink information resulting in a group of measurements;
determining that a first measurement from the group of measurements exceeds a threshold resulting in a determination; and
suppressing one or more interference signals on a first affected uplink from the group of uplink paths in accordance with the determination.
16 . The device of claim 15 , wherein the uplink information identifies a portion of the plurality of communication devices that transmit in the uplink paths.
17 . The device of claim 15 , wherein the uplink information identifies a group of power levels used by the plurality of communication devices while transmitting during one or more assigned resource blocks.
18 . The device of claim 15 , wherein the uplink information identifies resource blocks that have been assigned to each communication device in the plurality of communication devices.
19 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
obtaining uplink information associated with a plurality of communication devices; performing a measurement on each of a group of uplink paths according to the uplink information resulting in a group of measurements; determining that a first measurement from the group of measurements exceeds an adaptive threshold resulting in a determination; and initiating corrective action in accordance with the determination.
20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the adaptive threshold is based on an average baseline power level.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
