Augmented reality system for guards of controlled environment residents
Abstract
The present disclosure provides details of a system and method for a communication device for guards in a controlled environment. The communication device is established based on a wireless infrastructure in the controlled environment, receiving wireless positioning signals to calculate and determine the real-time location of personnel carrying the device. The indoor wireless positioning can be combined with other available positioning methods to provide highly accurate positioning information of the personnel. The communication device detects and records activities of the personnel during a period of time, and is controlled by the control center. The status of personnel is monitored by control center. Meanwhile, the communication device has AR functions that allow physical objects and augmented reality element to be displayed to the personnel at the same time. The personnel can thus have improved awareness of the surrounding environment and can respond to various potential dangers more effectively.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
2 . A system for monitoring personnel within a controlled environment, comprising:
a memory that stores map data of the controlled environment; and one or more processors configured to:
receive detected wireless communication information of detected external wireless communication devices from a multifunction device associated with the personnel;
determine, based on the received detected wireless communication information, a location of the personnel within the controlled environment; and
display a map showing the location of the personnel based on the stored map data and the determined location.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:
designate a path for the personnel for traversing the controlled environment.
4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:
compare the location of the personnel to a nearest position of the path.
5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to calculate a deviation from the path based on the comparing.
6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to identify an abnormal condition of the personnel in response to the deviation exceeding a predetermined threshold.
7 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to identify a contraband wireless communication device from the received detected wireless communication information.
8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to determine a location of the contraband wireless communication device based on the location of the personnel and the wireless communication data.
9 . A method for monitoring personnel in a controlled environment, comprising:
storing map data of the controlled environment; receiving detected wireless communication information of detected external wireless communication devices from a multifunction device associated with the personnel; determining, based on the received detected wireless communication information, a location of the personnel within the controlled environment; and displaying a map showing the location of the personnel based on the stored map data and the determined location.
10 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising designating a path for the personnel for traversing the controlled environment.
11 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising comparing the location of the personnel to a nearest position of the path.
12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising calculating a deviation from the path based on the comparing.
13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising identifying an abnormal condition of the personnel in response to the deviation exceeding a predetermined threshold.
14 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising identifying a contraband wireless communication device from the received detected wireless communication information.
15 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising determining a location of the contraband wireless communication device based on the location of the personnel and the wireless communication data.
16 . A computer-readable storage medium storing instructions thereon that when executed by one or more processors cause the one or more processors to perform a method comprising:
storing map data of the controlled environment; receiving detected wireless communication information of detected external wireless communication devices from a multifunction device associated with the personnel; determining, based on the received detected wireless communication information, a location of the personnel within the controlled environment; and displaying a map showing the location of the personnel based on the stored map data and the determined location.
17 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the method further comprises designating a path for the personnel for traversing the controlled environment.
18 . The computer-readable medium of claim 17 , the method further comprising comparing the location of the personnel to a nearest position of the path.
19 . The computer-readable medium of claim 18 the method further comprising calculating a deviation from the path based on the comparing.
20 . The computer-readable medium of claim 19 , the method further comprising identifying an abnormal condition of the personnel in response to the deviation exceeding a predetermined threshold.
21 . The computer-readable medium of claim 16 , the method further comprising:
identifying a contraband wireless communication device from the received detected wireless communication information; and determining a location of the contraband wireless communication device based on the location of the personnel and the wireless communication data.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
