Abstract

Aspects described herein may provide modification of recommendations from a recommendation engine for a product or a device. The recommendation engine may provide initial search results for a particular type of device. The initial search results may be modified to ensure inclusion of devices that include features that the user considers important. Features that the user considers important may be determined based on observing the user's interaction with another device of the same type. By observing the user's interaction with the other device over a period of time, features that the user commonly uses and features that the user sparingly uses may be determined. The initial search results may then be modified to remove devices that do not include the features frequently used by the user and therefore considered important to the user.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method comprising:
 receiving, by a first computing device and from a listening computing device, audio data, recorded by the listening computing device, that comprises one or more sounds made by a first device during interaction with the first device;   receiving, by the first computing device, command data corresponding to commands issued to the first device;   processing, by the first computing device, the audio data and the command data to determine a frequency of use of a set of features of the first device;   identifying a subset of features of the first device by determining, for each feature of the set of features of the first device, a corresponding frequency of use satisfies a predetermined threshold;   determining, by the first computing device, a set of second devices by comparing the subset of features of the first device to one or more features of each second device of the set of second devices; and   causing, by the first computing device and via a user interface of a user computing device, display of information identifying each second device of the set of second devices.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the audio data further comprises one or more verbal instructions provided to the first device, and wherein identifying the subset of features of the first device is further based on the verbal instructions. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the command data further comprises an indication of a change of operation of the first device. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 receiving additional data indicating interaction with the first device via a smartphone used to control the first device, wherein the processing further comprises processing the additional data.   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 receiving additional data indicating interaction with the first device via an augmented reality device worn by a user, wherein the processing further comprises processing the additional data.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the first device comprises a first appliance, and wherein the second device comprises a second appliance. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the audio data comprises a recording of a sound of a button of the first device being pushed. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the audio data comprises a recording of a sound of a user manually configuring the first device. 
     
     
         9 . An apparatus comprising:
 one or more processors; and   memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to:
 receive, from a listening computing device, audio data, recorded by the listening computing device, that comprises one or more sounds made by a first device during interaction with the first device; 
 receive command data corresponding to commands issued, via a user computing device, to the first device; 
 process the audio data and the command data to determine a frequency of use of a set of features of the first device; 
 identify a subset of features of the first device by determining, for each feature of the set of features of the first device, whether a corresponding frequency of use satisfies a predetermined threshold; 
 determine a set of second devices by comparing the subset of features of the first device to one or more features of each second device of the set of second devices; and 
 cause, via a user interface of the user computing device, display of information identifying each second device of the set of second devices. 
   
     
     
         10 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the audio data further comprises one or more verbal instructions provided to the first device, and wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to identify the subset of features of the first device further based on the verbal instructions. 
     
     
         11 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the command data further comprises an indication of a change operation of the first device. 
     
     
         12 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the apparatus to:
 receive additional data indicating interaction with the first device via a smartphone used to control the first device, wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to process the audio data and the command data by processing the additional data.   
     
     
         13 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to:
 receive additional data indicating interaction with the first device via:
 an augmented reality device worn by a user; and 
   process the additional data.   
     
     
         14 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to cause display of the information by causing the apparatus to:
 cause display of at least one feature of at least one second device of the set of second devices that is not available with the first device.   
     
     
         15 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the audio data comprises a recording of with a sound of a button of the first device being pushed. 
     
     
         16 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the audio data comprises a recording of a sound of a user manually configuring the first device. 
     
     
         17 . One or more non-transitory media storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform steps comprising:
 receive, from a listening computing device, audio data, recorded by the listening computing device, that comprises one or more sounds made by a first device during interaction with the first device;   receive command data corresponding to commands issued, via a user computing device, to the first device;   process the audio data and the command data to determine a frequency of use of a set of features of the first device;   identify a subset of features of the first device by determining, for each feature of the set of features of the first device, whether a corresponding frequency of use satisfies a predetermined threshold;   determine a set of second devices by comparing the subset of features of the first device to one or more features of each second device of the set of second devices; and   cause, via a user interface of the user computing device, display of information identifying each second device of the set of second devices.   
     
     
         18 . The one or more non-transitory media of  claim 17 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
 receive additional data indicating interaction with the first device via:
 an augmented reality device worn by a user; and 
   process the additional data.   
     
     
         19 . The one or more non-transitory media of  claim 17 , wherein the audio data comprises a recording of with a sound of a button of the first device being pushed. 
     
     
         20 . The one or more non-transitory media of  claim 17 , wherein the audio data comprises a recording of a sound of a user manually configuring the first device.
