Claims

Abstract

A display apparatus includes: a substrate; a light-emitting diode (“LED”) disposed above the substrate; a pixel-defining layer disposed above the substrate and including a concave portion which defines a space in which the LED is disposed; a light guider disposed in the space and between the LED and a first inner side surface of the concave portion; and a light blocker disposed above the pixel-defining layer to cover a top portion of the LED. The LED is disposed a second inner side surface of the concave portion, which is opposite to the first inner side surface, and spaced apart from a center of the concave portion, and the light guider guides light emitted from the LED to a region adjacent to the second inner side surface of the concave portion.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A display apparatus comprising:
 a substrate;   at least a first pixel, a second pixel and a third pixel emitting light having different color to each other;   a pixel-defining layer disposed above the substrate and comprising concave portions which define emission regions of the first pixel, the second pixel and the third pixel; and   a light blocker disposed above the pixel-defining layer;   wherein each of the first pixel, the second pixel and the third pixel comprises a light-emitting diode disposed in a corresponding concave portion among the concave portions, and   wherein the light blocker simultaneously covers light-emitting diodes of the first pixel, the second pixel and the third pixel.   
     
     
         2 . The display apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the light-emitting diode of the first pixel is disposed adjacent to a first inner side surface of the first concave portion, the light-emitting diode of the second pixel is disposed adjacent to a first inner side surface of the second concave portion and the light-emitting diode of the third pixel is disposed adjacent to a first inner side surface of the third concave portion. 
     
     
         3 . The display apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the first inner side surface of the first concave portion and the first inner side surface of the second concave portion face to each other. 
     
     
         4 . The display apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the first inner side surfaces of the first, second and third concave portions are disposed adjacent to each other. 
     
     
         5 . The display apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the light blocker is electrically connected to upper surfaces of the light-emitting diodes of the first pixel, the second pixel and the third pixel, and
 a voltage for driving the light-emitting diodes is applied via the light blocker.   
     
     
         6 . The display apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising a light guide filled in the concave portions. 
     
     
         7 . The display apparatus of  claim 6 , further comprising scattered particles distributed in the light guider. 
     
     
         8 . The display apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the first pixel, the second pixel and the third pixel form a unit body and the unit body is repeatedly arranged above the substrate.
