Abstract

An aerosol-generating article is provided, including: a rod of aerosol-generating substrate, the aerosol-generating substrate including one or more aerosol formers, a content of aerosol former in the aerosol-generating substrate being between 10 percent and 20 percent by weight on a dry weight basis; a mouthpiece element located downstream of the rod of aerosol-generating substrate, the mouthpiece element including at least one mouthpiece filter segment formed of a fibrous filtration material and a resistance to draw of the mouthpiece filter segment being between 4 mm H 2 O and 11 mm H 2 O; and a hollow tubular element located between the rod of aerosol-generating substrate and the mouthpiece element, a combined length of the hollow tubular element and the mouthpiece element being between 24 mm and 32 mm. An aerosol-generating system is also provided, including the aerosol-generating article and an aerosol-generating device including a heating chamber to receive the article and a heating element.

         16 . An aerosol-generating article, comprising:
a rod of aerosol-generating substrate, the aerosol-generating substrate comprising one or more aerosol formers, wherein a content of aerosol former in the aerosol-generating substrate is between 10 percent and 20 percent by weight on a dry weight basis; a mouthpiece element located downstream of the rod of aerosol-generating substrate, the mouthpiece element comprising at least one mouthpiece filter segment formed of a fibrous filtration material and a resistance to draw of the mouthpiece filter segment being between 4 mm H 2 O and 11 mm H 2 O; and a hollow tubular element located between the rod of aerosol-generating substrate and the mouthpiece element, wherein a combined length of the hollow tubular element and the mouthpiece element is between 24 mm and 32 mm.

17 . The aerosol-generating article according to claim 16 , wherein an internal volume defined by the hollow tubular element is at least 300 cubic millimetres.

18 . The aerosol-generating article according to claim 16 , further comprising an upstream element provided upstream of the rod of aerosol-generating substrate.

19 . The aerosol-generating article according to claim 18 , wherein the upstream element has a resistance to draw of less than 2 mm H 2 O.

         20 . The aerosol-generating article according to claim 16 , wherein a resistance to draw of the mouthpiece filter segment is between 6 mm H 2 O and 10 mm H 2 O.

         21 . The aerosol-generating article according to claim 16 , wherein the aerosol-generating article has a resistance to draw of between 20 mm H 2 O and 22 mm H 2 O.

22 . The aerosol-generating article according to claim 16 , wherein the hollow tubular element consists of a continuous hollow tubular segment.

23 . The aerosol-generating article according to claim 16 , wherein a length of the hollow tubular element is at least 15 mm.

24 . The aerosol-generating article according to claim 16 , wherein the aerosol-generating substrate further comprises a shredded tobacco material.

25 . The aerosol-generating article according to claim 24 , wherein the shredded tobacco material has a density from 150 milligrams per cubic centimetre to 500 milligrams per cubic centimetre.

26 . The aerosol-generating article according to claim 16 , wherein a length of the mouthpiece element is between 3 mm and 11 mm.

27 . The aerosol-generating article according to claim 16 , wherein a wall thickness of the hollow tubular element is no greater than 2 mm.

         28 . The aerosol-generating article according to claim 16 , wherein the rod of aerosol-generating substrate has a resistance to draw of between 4 mm H 2 O and 10 mm H 2 O.

         29 . An aerosol-generating system, comprising:
an aerosol-generating article according to claim 16 ; and an aerosol-generating device comprising a heating chamber configured to receive the aerosol-generating article and at least a heating element provided at or about a periphery of the heating chamber.
