Abstract

A method for manufacturing a reconstituted tobacco binder (RTB) sheet, including a raw tobacco material and a binding agent, includes the raw tobacco material positioned on a conveyer belt, which moves in a forward direction. The raw tobacco material is formed by at least one forming head to a raw tobacco material layer, wherein the binding agent is subsequently applied on the raw tobacco material layer and then dried in a drying process, thereby creating the RTB sheet. A tobacco product including tobacco particles and a liquid medium is applied on the raw tobacco material layer and/or the RTB sheet during the manufacturing, wherein the tobacco particles have an average particle size of 30 µm or less.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for manufacturing a reconstituted tobacco binder (RTB) sheet, comprising a raw tobacco material and a binding agent, wherein the raw tobacco material is positioned on a conveyer belt, which moves in a forward direction, and the raw tobacco material is formed by at least one forming head to a raw tobacco material layer, wherein the binding agent is subsequently applied on the raw tobacco material layer and then dried in a drying process, thereby creating the RTB sheet,
wherein a tobacco product comprising tobacco particles and a liquid medium is applied on the raw tobacco material layer and/or the RTB sheet during the manufacturing, wherein the tobacco particles have an average particle size of 30 µm or less.

2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein:
the tobacco particles are dispersed in the liquid medium at a temperature of 0° to 10° C.

3 . The method according to claims 1 , wherein:
the RTB sheet comprises a fleece bonded on the RTB sheet.

4 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein:
the tobacco product is sprayed and/or printed on the RTB sheet and/or the fleece.

5 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein:
the applied tobacco product on at least one surface of the RTB sheet and/or the fleece forms a pattern.

6 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein:
the binding agent and the tobacco product are applied on the RTB sheet in one manufacturing step.

7 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein:
a drying unit dries the RTB sheet and/or the fleece after or before applying the tobacco product on the RTB sheet and/or the fleece.

8 . The method according to claims 3 , further comprising:
an additional wetting step after or before applying the tobacco product on the fleece.

9 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a shredding or a rolling up step as a last manufacturing step for a further processing, wherein the RTB sheet is shredded or rolled up.

10 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein:
the tobacco product has a viscosity in a range of 50 and 350 dPas.

11 . The method according to claims 1 , wherein:
the tobacco product has a density in a range of 0.8 g/cm3 and 1.5 g/cm3.

12 . A reconstituted tobacco binder (RTB) sheet, comprising at least a raw tobacco material and a binding agent, wherein the RTB sheet comprises a shape of a layer,
wherein the RTB sheet further comprises a tobacco product comprising tobacco particles and a liquid medium, wherein the tobacco particles have an average particle size of 30 µm or less.

13 . The RTB sheet according to claim 12 , wherein:
the tobacco product comprises ground tobacco, wherein a weight amount of the ground tobacco is in a range of 1-50%.

14 . The RTB sheet according to claims 12 , wherein:
a weight amount of the tobacco product comprised in the RTB sheet is in a range of 0.1 to 1%.

15 . The RTB sheet according to claims 12 , wherein:
a weight amount of the binding agent comprised in the RTB sheet is in a range of 2 to 3%, wherein the binding agent comprises a liquid carrier.

16 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein:
the fleece is a non-woven cellulose.

17 . The RTB sheet according to claim 12 , wherein:
a weight amount of the tobacco product comprised in the RTB sheet is in a range of 0.01 to 3%.

18 . The RTB sheet according to claim 15 , wherein:
a weight amount of the binding agent comprised in the RTB sheet is in a range of 0.1 to 5%.

19 . The RTB sheet according to claim 15 , wherein:
the liquid carrier is water and/or glycerine and/or propylene glycol and/or butylene glycol and/or sorbitol and/or trimethylene-glycol.
