Abstract

The disclosure provides edible hydration pods for hydrating animals and a method of manufacturing edible hydration pods. In one example, an enclosed, edible hydration pod for dogs is disclosed that includes: (1) a formed casing and (2) a frozen liquid that is enclosed by sealing the casing around the frozen liquid, wherein the casing is an edible and digestible casing that is flavored for dogs and is a transporting vessel for the liquid, wherein the casing includes a gelatin in the range of 35% to 55% and a polymer derived from cellulose.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A manufactured edible hydration pod, comprising:
a frozen liquid; and a transporting vessel that is sealed around the frozen liquid and includes a gelatin in the range of 35% to 55% and a vegetable based material.

2 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 1 , wherein the frozen liquid includes at least one supplement for animals.

3 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 2 , wherein the at least one supplement is directed to one or more specific animals.

4 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 3 , wherein the at least one supplement is directed to dogs.

5 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 1 , wherein the transporting vessel has a diameter or width in a range of one inch to three inches.

6 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 1 , wherein the transporting vessel is a chewable casing and the liquid is released when the casing is punctured during chewing.

7 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 1 , wherein the transporting vessel is a casing that is dissolvable when chewed or held in the mouth of an animal.

8 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 1 , wherein the transporting vessel is a casing that is dissolvable when orally ingested by an animal.

9 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 1 , wherein the vegetable based material is a polymer formulated from cellulose.

10 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 1 , wherein the gelatin is manufactured from the collagen of animal skin or bone.

11 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 1 , wherein the liquid is water.

12 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 1 , wherein the transporting vessel is a casing formed around the frozen liquid.

13 . A method of manufacturing an enclosed edible hydration pod, comprising:
providing a liquid; providing a casing that includes a gelatin in the range of 35% to 55% and a polymer derived from cellulose; forming a cavity using the casing; filling the cavity with the liquid; and encapsulating the liquid within the casing, wherein the forming the cavity, the filing the cavity, and the encapsulating the liquid are performed by a manufacturer before the enclosed edible hydration pod is shipped.

14 . The method as recited in claim 13 , wherein the encapsulating includes freezing the liquid and sealing the casing around the frozen liquid.

15 . The method as recited in claim 13 , further comprising adding at least one of a supplement or a flavoring to the liquid and adding at least one of a supplement or a flavor to the casing.

16 . The method as recited in claim 13 , further comprising shipping the enclosed edible hydration pod without individual packaging.

17 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the casing includes at least one weak point corresponding to a bite force needed for piercing the casing.

18 . An enclosed, edible hydration pod for dogs, comprising:
a formed casing; and a frozen liquid that is enclosed by sealing the casing around the frozen liquid, wherein the casing is an edible and digestible casing that is flavored for dogs and is a transporting vessel for the liquid, wherein the casing includes a gelatin in the range of 35% to 55% and a polymer derived from cellulose.

19 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 18 , wherein at least one of the casing and the liquid include at least one supplement directed to dogs.

20 . The manufactured edible hydration pod as recited in claim 19 , wherein the casing includes at least two designed weak points that have a different thickness than other portions of the casing.
