Sound source device for electronic musical instrument, musical sound generating method and electronic musical instrument system

Abstract

This electronic musical instrument main body device comprises an information acquisition unit and a port assignment unit. The information acquisition unit acquires, from a playing operation device connected to one connection terminal, information related to the playing operation device. The port assignment unit assigns, to the playing operation device, a virtual input port of a type corresponding to the information related to the playing operation device and acquired by the information acquisition unit.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A sound source device for an electronic musical instrument, the sound source device comprising:
 processing electronics configured to provide at least one first kind of communication link on which a digital signal having first playing information is received from a first playing operation device, each first kind of communication link being configured to be capable of receiving the digital signal from any one of a plurality of types of first playing operation devices; and   a musical sound signal generating unit that generates a musical sound signal on the basis of the first playing information received from the first playing operation device on the first kind of communication link.   
     
     
         2 . The sound source device of  claim 1 , wherein the musical sound signal generating unit generates a musical sound signal on the basis of the first playing information received from the first playing operation device on the first kind of communication link in a case in which other first playing information is not received via another one of the first kind of communication links from another first playing operation device of the same type as the type of the first playing operation device from which the first playing information is received, and
 the musical sound signal generating unit is configured to not generate the musical sound signal based on the first playing information received from the first playing operation device in a case in which the other first playing information from the other first playing operation device of the same type is received on the other first kind of communication link.   
     
     
         3 . The sound source device of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a plurality of connection terminals providing second kinds of communication links, each connection terminal configured to receive an analog signal having second playing information from at least one second playing operation device, the plurality of connection terminals corresponding to a plurality of different types of second playing operation devices,   wherein the musical sound signal generating unit generates a musical sound signal on the basis of the first playing information received from the first playing operation device on the first kind of communication link and the second playing information received from the at least one second playing operation device on at least one of the second kinds of communication links.   
     
     
         4 . The sound source device of  claim 3 , wherein the musical sound signal generating unit generates a musical sound signal on the basis of the second playing information received from the at least one second playing operation device on at least one of the connection terminals in a case in which the first playing operation device from which first playing information is received is not the same type of playing operation device as the second playing operation device from which the second playing information is received; and
 the musical sound signal generating unit is configured to not generate the musical sound signal based on the second playing information received from the at least one second playing operation device in a case in which the first playing information from the first playing operation device of the same type is received on the first kind of communication link.   
     
     
         5 . The sound source device of  claim 4 , wherein the musical sound signal generating unit is configured to not generate the musical sound signal based on the second playing information received from the at least one second playing operation device, by muting the connection terminal corresponding to each of the at least one second playing operation device. 
     
     
         6 . The sound source device of  claim 3 , further comprising a notification unit that performs predetermined notification in a case in which the first playing operation device from which the first playing information is received on the first kind of communication link, is the same type as the type of the second playing operation device from which the second playing information is received on at least one of the second kind of communication links, when it is determined that it is a time to generate a musical sound on the basis of the second playing information received from the second playing operation device. 
     
     
         7 . The sound source device of  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the playing operation devices includes a pad that detects a beat. 
     
     
         8 . The sound source device of  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the playing operation device includes an electronic piano. 
     
     
         9 . The sound source device of  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the playing operation devices includes an electronic guitar. 
     
     
         10 . A musical sound generating method for generating a musical sound in a sound source device for an electronic musical instrument, the musical sound generating method comprising:
 providing at least one first kind of communication link, each first kind of communication link being configured to receive a digital signal from any one of a plurality of types of first playing operation devices;   generating a musical sound signal with a musical sound signal generating unit on the basis of the first playing information received from the first playing operation device on the first kind of communication link.   
     
     
         11 . The musical sound generating method according to  claim 10 , further comprising:
 controlling the musical sound signal generating unit to generate a musical sound signal on the basis of the first playing information received from the first playing operation device on the first kind of communication link in a case in which other first playing information is not received via another one of the first kind of communication links from another first playing operation device of the same type as the type of the first playing operation device from which the first playing information is received; and   controlling the musical sound signal generating unit to not generate the musical sound signal based on the first playing information received from the first playing operation device in a case in which the other first playing information from the other first playing operation device of the same type is received on the other first kind of communication link.   
     
     
         12 . The musical sound generating method according to  claim 10 , further comprising:
 providing a plurality of connection terminals, each connection terminal configured to provide a second kind of communication link for receiving an analog signal having second playing information from at least one second playing operation device, the plurality of connection terminals corresponding to a plurality of different types of second playing operation devices; and   generating a musical sound signal on the basis of the first playing information received from the first playing operation device on the first kind of communication link and the second playing information received from the at least one second playing operation device on the second kind of communication link.   
     
     
         13 . The musical sound generating method according to  claim 12 , further comprising:
 generating a musical sound signal on the basis of the second playing information received from the second playing operation device on one of the second kind of communication links in a case in which the first playing operation device from which first playing information is received is not the same type of playing operation device as the second playing operation device from which the second playing information is received, and   generating the musical sound on the basis of the first playing information received from the first playing operation device on the first kind of communication link and the second playing information received from the at least one second playing operation device on the one of the second kind of communication links.   
     
     
         14 . The musical sound generating method according to  claim 12 , further comprising:
 performing predetermined notification in a case in which the first playing operation device from which the first playing information is received on the first kind of communication link, is the same type as the type of the second playing operation device from which the second playing information is received on at least one of the second kinds of communication links, when it is determined that it is a time to generate a musical sound on the basis of the second playing information received from the second playing operation device.   
     
     
         15 . The musical sound generating method according to  claim 11 , further comprising:
 controlling the musical sound signal generating unit to not generate the musical sound signal based on the second playing information received from the second playing operation device, by muting the connection terminal corresponding to each of the at least one second playing operation device.   
     
     
         16 . The musical sound generating method according to  claim 10 , wherein at least one of the playing operation devices includes a pad that detects a beat. 
     
     
         17 . The musical sound generating method according to  claim 10 , wherein at least one of the playing operation devices includes an electronic piano. 
     
     
         18 . The musical sound generating method according to  claim 10 , wherein at least one of the playing operation devices includes an electronic guitar. 
     
     
         19 . An electronic musical instrument system comprising:
 a playing operation device that generates a playing information; and   a sound source device for an electronic musical instrument to which the playing operation device is connected,   wherein the sound source device for the electronic musical instrument includes:   processing electronics configured to provide at least one first kind of communication link on which a digital signal having first playing information is received from a first playing operation device, each first kind of communication link being configured to be capable of receiving the digital signal from any one of a plurality of types of first playing operation devices; and   a musical sound signal generating unit that generates a musical sound signal on the basis of the first playing information received from the first playing operation device on the first kind of communication link.   
     
     
         20 . The electronic musical instrument system according to  claim 19 , further comprising:
 a plurality of connection terminals providing second kinds of communication links, each connection terminal configured to receive an analog signal having second playing information from at least one second playing operation device, the plurality of connection terminals corresponding to a plurality of different types of second playing operation devices,   wherein the musical sound signal generating unit generates a musical sound signal on the basis of the first playing information received from the first playing operation device on the first kind of communication link and the second playing information received from the at least one second playing operation device on at least one of the second kind of communication links.
