Abstract

The present invention relates to a shell assembly for a medicament delivery device, which shell assembly comprises at least one first shell section provided with an entry passage and designed such that at least a major part of a medicament delivery device entered through said entry passage is accommodated inside said at least one first shell section, a closure element operably arranged to said at least one first shell section for closing said entry passage, and fixation elements arranged for fixating said medicament delivery device in relation to said at least one first shell section and said closure element.

1 . An assembly for a medicament delivery device, the assembly comprising:
 a shell provided with an entry passage that permits positioning of a major part of the medicament delivery device when inserted into the entry passage such that medicament delivery is positioned inside the shell;   a closure element operatively associated with the shell that closes the entry passage to prevent movement of the medicament delivery device relative to the entry passage;   a fixation element arranged in the shell that fixes the medicament delivery device relative to the shell and to the closure element when the medicament delivery device is positioned inside the shell; and   a protective cap removably connected to the proximal end of the shell or the closure element and covering a proximal end of the medicament delivery device, where the protective cap comprises a remover that engages a needle sheath on the proximal end of the medicament deliver device when the protective cap is axially moved in a proximal direction relative to the shell.   
     
     
         2 . The assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the remover comprises a generally tubular remover element attached to the protective cap and arranged with inwardly inclined grips that engage with a surface of the needle sheath surrounding an injection needle fixed to a medicament container positioned inside the medicament delivery device. 
     
     
         3 . The assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the shell comprises a first shell section and a second shell section and the closure element comprises part of one of the first or second shell sections. 
     
     
         4 . The assembly of  claim 3 , wherein the first shell section and the second shell section comprise attachment elements operably arranged to connect the first and second shell sections to each other. 
     
     
         5 . The assembly of  claim 4 , wherein the attachment elements comprise snap-in elements. 
     
     
         6 . The assembly of  claim 4 , wherein the attachment elements are non-releasable. 
     
     
         7 . The assembly of  claim 3 , wherein the first shell section and the second shell section comprise joints operably arranged to movably open or close the first and second shell sections. 
     
     
         8 . The assembly of  claim 7 , wherein the joints comprise hinges. 
     
     
         9 . The assembly of  claim 7 , wherein joints comprise flexible bridges. 
     
     
         10 . The assembly of  claim 4 , wherein the attachment elements comprise protrusions and corresponding seats configured to lock the first shell section and the second shell section together. 
     
     
         11 . The assembly of  claim 10 , wherein the protrusions extend from a contact surface of the first shell section and from the second shell section, respectively,
 wherein the protrusions are arranged with respective inclined surfaces that cooperate with respective inclined surfaces of the seats.   
     
     
         12 . The assembly of  claim 11 , wherein the position and number of seats correspond to the position and number of protrusions. 
     
     
         13 . The assembly of  claim 11 , wherein when the first shell section and the second shell section are pushed together with the respective contact surfaces facing each other, the protrusions are configured to fit into the seats, whereby the inclined surfaces are configured to interact with each other to lock the shell sections to each other with the contact surfaces abutting each other. 
     
     
         14 . The assembly of  claim 2 , wherein the fixation element comprises longitudinal slits provided on at least one of the first or second shell sections and longitudinally extending ledges on the medicament delivery device. 
     
     
         15 . The assembly of  claim 14 , wherein the longitudinal slits are arranged with cut-outs on side surfaces of the longitudinal slits, providing proximally directed contact surfaces, and
 wherein the longitudinally extending ledges are arranged with a wedge-shaped protrusion that fit into the cut-out of the side surfaces of the longitudinal slits.   
     
     
         16 . The assembly of  claim 15 , wherein a proximal end of the longitudinally extending ledges is arranged with a wedge-shaped protrusion that fits into the cut-out of the side surfaces of the longitudinal slits, wherein a distally directed surface of the wedge-shaped protrusion will be in contact with the proximally directed contact surface of the cut-out. 
     
     
         17 . The assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the fixation elements are arranged on an inner surface of the shell and the shell further comprises contact surfaces, wherein the fixation elements and the contact surfaces contact with and fixate the medicament delivery device inside the at least one shell section. 
     
     
         18 . An assembly for a medicament delivery device, the assembly comprising:
 a shell comprising a first shell portion and second shell portion, where the shell encloses a major part of the medicament delivery device when the first and second shell portions are connected to each other such that medicament delivery is fixed relative to the shell;   an entry passage defined by an inner surface of either the first or second shell portions, where the entry passage is configured to hold the major part of the medicament delivery device;   a closure element defined by proximal ends of the first and second shell portions, where a proximal end of the medicament delivery device extends through the closure element and prevents the major part of the medicament delivery device from moving proximally relative to the shell;   a fixation element arranged on the shell that fixes the medicament delivery device relative to the shell when the medicament delivery device is positioned inside the shell; and   a protective cap removably connected to the proximal end of the shell and covering the proximal end of the medicament delivery device, where the protective cap comprises a remover that engages a needle sheath on the proximal end of the medicament deliver device when the protective cap is axially relative to the shell.   
     
     
         19 . The assembly of  claim 18 , wherein the first shell section and the second shell section comprise:
 attachment elements operably arranged to connect the first and second shell sections to each other, where the attachment elements comprise snap-in elements; and   joints operably arranged to movably open or close the first and second shell sections, the joints comprise hinges or flexible bridges.   
     
     
         20 . The assembly of  claim 19 , wherein the fixation element comprises longitudinal slits provided on at least one of the first or second shell sections and longitudinally extending ledges on the medicament delivery device, where the longitudinal slits are arranged with cut-outs on side surfaces of the longitudinal slits, providing proximally directed contact surfaces and where the longitudinally extending ledges are arranged with a wedge-shaped protrusion that fit into the cut-out of the side surfaces of the longitudinal slits.
