Abstract

An apparatus comprising a pump, an input configured to receive information related to a user, a user interface, and a controller communicatively coupled to the pump, the input, and the user interface. The controller includes a timing module configured to initiate delivery of a drug in time and to adjust delivery according to the received information. Other devices, systems, and methods are disclosed.

1 . An ambulatory infusion pump system, comprising:
 a pump mechanism configured to deliver insulin to a patient;   a memory configured to store a delivery pattern of basal insulin that varies a basal rate of insulin delivered to a user according to a time of day; and   at least one processor configured to: 
 cause the pump mechanism to deliver insulin to the user according to the delivery pattern of basal insulin by the time of day; 
 receive time change information indicating a change to the time of day; and 
 cause a shift in the delivery pattern of basal insulin in time based on the time change information. 
   
     
     
         2 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 1 , wherein the time change information relates to a change in time zone. 
     
     
         3 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 1 , wherein the time change information relates to daylight savings time. 
     
     
         4 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 1 , wherein shifting the delivery pattern of basal insulin in time includes shifting the pattern by a plurality of time increments. 
     
     
         5 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 4 , wherein shifting the pattern by a plurality of time increments includes shifting by one increment after a predetermined period of time. 
     
     
         6 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 5 , wherein shifting by one increment after a predetermined period of time includes shifting by one increment per day. 
     
     
         7 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 5 , wherein shifting by one increment after a predetermined period of time includes shifting by one increment per hour. 
     
     
         8 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 1 , wherein receiving time change information includes receiving user input modifying a real-time clock in communication with the at least one processor. 
     
     
         9 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 1 , wherein the time change information includes travel information of the user. 
     
     
         10 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 9 , wherein the at least one processor is configured to determine the time change information based on a destination in the travel information of the user. 
     
     
         11 . An ambulatory infusion pump system, comprising:
 a pump mechanism configured to deliver insulin to a patient;   a memory configured to store a delivery pattern of basal insulin that varies a basal rate of insulin delivered to a user according to a time of day; and   at least one processor configured to: 
 cause the pump mechanism to deliver insulin to the user according to the delivery pattern of basal insulin by the time of day; 
 receive time change information indicating a change in a local time for the user; and 
 incrementally shift the delivery pattern of basal insulin in time to match the local time for the user. 
   
     
     
         12 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 11 , wherein the time change information relates to a change in time zone. 
     
     
         13 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 11 , wherein the time change information relates to daylight savings time. 
     
     
         14 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 11 , wherein incrementally shifting the delivery pattern of basal insulin in time includes shifting the pattern by a plurality of time increments until the pattern matches the local time. 
     
     
         15 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 14 , wherein shifting the pattern by a plurality of time increments includes shifting by one increment after a predetermined period of time. 
     
     
         16 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 15 , wherein shifting by one increment after a predetermined period of time includes shifting by one increment per day. 
     
     
         17 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 15 , wherein shifting by one increment after a predetermined period of time includes shifting by one increment per hour. 
     
     
         18 . The ambulatory infusion pump system of  claim 11 , wherein receiving time change information includes receiving user input modifying a real-time clock in communication with the at least one processor.
