Abstract

Various embodiments are generally directed to autofilling card data from a contactless card to a form of a computing device. An application may determine that a payment field of a form has received focus. The application may then receive encrypted data from a communications interface of a contactless card associated with an account. The application may then receive, from a server, verification of the encrypted data. The application may then receive, from the server, an encrypted account number associated with the account, and decrypt the encrypted account number to yield the account number. An autofill service of an operating system (OS) executing on the processor circuit, may then autofill the account number to the payment field of the form.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A point-of-sale (POS) terminal, comprising:
 a processor circuit; and a memory storing an application and instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
 determine one or more fields for data are presented on a display;
 perform, via an interface, an exchange of data with a contactless card, wherein at least a portion of the data received from the contactless card is associated with at least one of the one or more fields;
 send a second portion of the data to a server to authenticate the contactless card;
 receive an indication the contactless card is authenticated;
 associate the portion of the data with each of the one or more fields; and
 provide the portion of the data to each of the one or more fields based on the indication.

         2 . The POS terminal of claim 1 , wherein the data is received in a cryptogram and the exchange is a near-field communication (NFC) exchange.

         3 . The POS terminal of claim 1 , wherein the second portion of the data comprises a unique identifier and a counter value, wherein the unique identifier to identify the contactless card and the counter value stores a number of wireless communications performed by contactless card on the contactless card.

         4 . The POS terminal of claim 1 , wherein the second portion of the data is encrypted with diversified keys by the contactless card.

         5 . The POS terminal of claim 1 , wherein the portion of the data comprises an account number, a CVV code, an expiration date, a name, an address, or any combination thereof.

         6 . The POS terminal of claim 5 , wherein the one or more fields correspond with the account number, the CVV code, the expiration data, the name, and the address.

         7 . The POS terminal of claim 1 , comprising a display device, and the processor is further configured to process instructions to cause, on the display device, presentation of an indication to tap the contactless card on a surface of the POS terminal to initiate the exchange of the data.

         8 . A point-of-sale (POS) terminal, comprising:
 a processor circuit; and a memory storing an application and instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
 determine one or more fields for data are presented on a display;
 perform, via an interface, an exchange of data with a contactless card;
 send the data to a server to authenticate the contactless card;
 receive card data from the server based on the data authenticating the contactless card, wherein the card data corresponds to the one or more fields; and
 provide the card data to the one or more fields.

         9 . The POS terminal of claim 8 , wherein the data comprises a unique identifier to identify the contactless card and a counter value to store a number of read operations performed by contactless card.

         10 . The POS terminal of claim 8 , wherein the data is encrypted with diversified keys by the contactless card.

         11 . The POS terminal of claim 8 , wherein the card data comprises an account number, a CVV code, an expiration date, a name, an address, or any combination thereof.

         12 . The POS terminal of claim 11 , wherein the one or more fields correspond with the account number, the CVV code, the expiration data, the name, and the address.

         13 . The POS terminal of claim 8 , comprising a display device, and the processor is further configured to process instructions to cause, on the display device, presentation of an indication to tap the contactless card on a surface of the POS terminal to initiate the exchange of the data.

         14 . A computer-implemented method, comprising:
 determining, by a processor of a point-of-sale (POS) terminal, one or more fields for data; performing, via an interface, an exchange of data with a contactless card, wherein at least a portion of the data received from the contactless card is associated with at least one of the one or more fields; sending a second portion of the data to a server to authenticate the contactless card; and receiving an indication the contactless card is authenticated prior to providing the data to each of the one or more fields; and providing the portion of the data to each of the one or more fields.

         15 . The computer-implemented method of claim 14 , wherein the data is in a cryptogram and the exchange is a near-field communication exchange.

         16 . The computer-implemented method of claim 14 , wherein the second portion of the data comprises a unique identifier to identify the contactless card and a counter value to store a number of read operations performed by the contactless card.

         17 . The computer-implemented method of claim 14 , wherein the second portion of the data is encrypted with diversified keys by the contactless card.

         18 . The computer-implemented method of claim 14 , wherein the portion of the data comprises an account number, a CVV code, an expiration date, a name, an address, or any combination thereof.

         19 . The computer-implemented method of claim 18 , wherein the one or more fields correspond with the account number, the CVV code, the expiration data, the name, and the address.

         20 . The computer-implemented method of claim 14 comprising displaying on a display device a presentation of an indication to tap the contactless card on a surface of the POS terminal to initiate the exchange of the data.
