Abstract

A firearm barrel assembly having a barrel tube and an outer sleeve. A sleeve nut is threaded on the barrel tube to retain the outer sleeve on the sleeve nut and to tension the barrel tube.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A firearm barrel assembly comprising:
an inner firearm barrel made of a first material, said inner firearm barrel having an entrance end and a threaded exit end; an outer sleeve secured around said inner firearm barrel, said outer sleeve made of a second material; an air gap formed between said inner firearm barrel and said outer sleeve; and a sleeve nut threaded onto said exit end of said inner firearm barrel to secure said outer sleeve in place on said inner firearm barrel, wherein tightening said sleeve nut on said inner firearm barrel fully tensions said inner firearm barrel.

2 . The firearm barrel assembly of claim 1 , wherein said first material comprises a metal.

3 . The firearm assembly of claim 2 , wherein said first material is steel.

4 . The firearm barrel assembly of claim 1 , wherein said second material comprises a carbon fiber material.

5 . The firearm assembly of claim 1 , wherein said sleeve nut further comprises a gun barrel accessory.

         6 . A firearm barrel assembly comprising:
an inner firearm barrel having an entrance end and an exit end, said inner firearm barrel having a sleeve thread located on said exit end of said inner firearm barrel; an outer sleeve secured around said inner firearm barrel; an air gap formed between said inner firearm barrel and said outer sleeve; and a sleeve nut having a threaded bore and a flange, said sleeve nut threaded onto sleeve thread of said inner firearm barrel to secure said outer sleeve in place on said inner firearm barrel, wherein tightening said sleeve nut allows for said flange to abut said outer sleeve, thereby fully tensioning said inner firearm barrel.

7 . The firearm barrel assembly of claim 6 , wherein a gap is formed between the exit end of the inner firearm barrel and said flange.

8 . The firearm barrel assembly of claim 6 wherein said threaded bore extends past said sleeve thread when fully tensioned.

9 . The firearm assembly of claim 8 , wherein said sleeve nut further comprises a gun barrel accessory.

10 . The firearm barrel assembly of claim 6 , wherein said sleeve thread extends past said threaded bore when fully tensioned.

11 . The firearm barrel assembly of claim 10 , wherein sleeve nut further comprises an internal edge, wherein a gap is formed between the exit end of the inner firearm barrel and said internal edge.

12 . The firearm barrel assembly of claim 6 , wherein openings are located in said outer sleeve.

         13 . A firearm barrel assembly comprising:
an inner firearm barrel having an entrance end and an exit end; an outer sleeve secured around said inner firearm barrel; an air gap formed between said inner firearm barrel and said outer sleeve; a sleeve nut having a threaded bore and a flange, said sleeve nut threaded onto sleeve thread of said inner firearm barrel to secure said outer sleeve in place on said inner firearm barrel, wherein tightening said sleeve nut allows for said flange to abut said outer sleeve, thereby fully tensioning said inner firearm barrel and maintaining a concentric arrangement between said inner firearm barrel and said outer sleeve.

14 . The firearm assembly of claim 13 , wherein a gap is formed between the exit end of the inner firearm barrel an internal edge of said sleeve nut.

15 . The firearm barrel assembly of claim 13 wherein said threaded bore extends past said sleeve thread when fully tensioned.

16 . The firearm assembly of claim 15 , wherein said sleeve nut further comprises a gun barrel accessory.

17 . The firearm barrel assembly of claim 13 , wherein said sleeve thread extends past said threaded bore when fully tensioned.

18 . The firearm barrel assembly of claim 13 , wherein said outer barrel is a carbon fiber material.

19 . The firearm barrel assembly of claim 13 , further comprising an adhesive between said inner firearm barrel and said outer sleeve.

20 . The firearm barrel of claim 13 , wherein said inner firearm barrel is a steel material.
