Vaporizer for vaporizing a constituent of a plant material
Abstract
Apparatus and methods are described for use with a vaporizer that vaporizes at least one active ingredient of a material. In response to receiving a first input to the vaporizer, the material is heated, in a first heating step. An indication of the temperature of the material is detected, and, in response to detecting an indication that the temperature of the material is at a first temperature, the first heating step is terminated, by withholding causing further temperature increase of the material. The first temperature is less than 95 percent of the vaporization temperature of the active ingredient. Subsequently, a second input is received at the vaporizer. In response thereto, the material is heated to the vaporization temperature, in a second heating step. Other applications are also described.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An apparatus for heating a material to generate a vapor, comprising:
a capsule including the material; a main body configured to receive the capsule; and an electrode arrangement configured to move relative to the main body to electrically engage with the capsule, the electrode arrangement configured to default to a biased position against the capsule.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the electrode arrangement is configured to slide across a face of the capsule while in physical contact with the capsule.
3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the electrode arrangement includes at least one mobile electrode and at least one stationary electrode.
4 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the at least one mobile electrode and the at least one stationary electrode are configured to be on opposite sides of the capsule when the capsule is electrically engaged with the electrode arrangement.
5 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the electrode arrangement further includes a hinge, and the at least one mobile electrode is configured to undergo a pivoting about the hinge to electrically engage with the capsule.
6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the capsule further includes an internal heating element, and the electrode arrangement is configured to drive a current into the internal heating element within the capsule.
7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the electrode arrangement includes a first electrode and a second electrode.
8 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the first electrode and the second electrode are configured to contact a same side of the capsule.
9 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the electrode arrangement is configured to drive a current through an outer surface of the capsule from the first electrode to the second electrode.
10 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the electrode arrangement includes contact portions in a form of blades.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
