Abstract

Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can receive a selection to include at least a first media content item, out of a collection of media content items, for presentation in one or more collages. A set of layouts can be dynamically provided based on the selection of at least the first media content item. A preview of the set of layouts can be dynamically presented. The preview of the set of layouts can visually represent the one or one more collages.

1 . A method, comprising:
 selecting, as a user is selecting two or more media content items among a plurality of media content items, two or more media content collage layouts from a plurality of media content collage layouts, the two or more media content collage layouts dynamically selected based on (i) a quantity of media content items being selected by the user and (ii) a media content type of each of the media content items being selected by the user;   dynamically arranging the two or more media content items in each of the two or more media content collage layouts;   causing simultaneous display of the two or more media content items arranged in the two or more media content collage layouts;   receiving a user selection of a media content collage layout in the two or more media content collage layouts;   adjusting a presentation aspect of one or more of the two or more media content items within the selected media content collage layout; and   posting the selected media content collage layout to a social networking system.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the media content type is one of an image or video. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the adjusting the presentation aspect positions a media content item in the media content collage layout to emphasize one or more objects that appear in the media content item. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the adjusting the presentation aspect further comprises:
 determining a display location of an object within a media content item of the two or more media content items; and   positioning the media content item within the media content collage layout based on the display location of the object.   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the adjusting the presentation aspect further comprises:
 determining a display location of a face within a media content item of the two or more media content items using facial recognition; and   positioning the media content item within the media content collage layout based on the display location of the face.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the causing display of the two or more media content items arranged in the one or more media content collage layouts further comprises:
 causing display of a suggested media content collage layout before other media content collage layouts in the one or more media content collage layouts.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the causing display of the two or more media content items arranged in the one or more media content collage layouts further comprises:
 determining that a particular media content college layout is likely to be used by a user; and   causing display of the particular media content collage layout before other media content collage layouts in the one or more media content collage layouts.   
     
     
         8 . One or more non-transitory computer-readable media, storing one or more sequences of instructions, wherein execution of the one or more sequences of instructions by one or more processors causes the one or more processors to perform:
 selecting, as a user is selecting two or more media content items among a plurality of media content items, two or more media content collage layouts from a plurality of media content collage layouts, the two or more media content collage layouts dynamically selected based on (i) a quantity of media content items being selected by the user and (ii) a media content type of each of the media content items being selected by the user;   dynamically arranging the two or more media content items in each of the two or more media content collage layouts;   causing simultaneous display of the two or more media content items arranged in the two or more media content collage layouts;   receiving a user selection of a media content collage layout in the two or more media content collage layouts;   adjusting a presentation aspect of one or more of the two or more media content items within the selected media content collage layout; and   posting the selected media content collage layout to a social networking system.   
     
     
         9 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of  claim 8 , wherein the media content type is one of an image or video. 
     
     
         10 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of  claim 8 , wherein the adjusting the presentation aspect positions a media content item in the media content collage layout to emphasize one or more objects that appear in the media content item. 
     
     
         11 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of  claim 8 , wherein the adjusting the presentation aspect further comprises:
 determining a display location of an object within a media content item of the two or more media content items; and   positioning the media content item within the media content collage layout based on the display location of the object.   
     
     
         12 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of  claim 8 , wherein the adjusting the presentation aspect further comprises:
 determining a display location of a face within a media content item of the two or more media content items using facial recognition; and   positioning the media content item within the media content collage layout based on the display location of the face.   
     
     
         13 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of  claim 8 , wherein the causing display of the two or more media content items arranged in the one or more media content collage layouts further comprises:
 causing display of a suggested media content collage layout before other media content collage layouts in the one or more media content collage layouts.   
     
     
         14 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of  claim 8 , wherein the causing display of the two or more media content items arranged in the one or more media content collage layouts further comprises:
 determining that a particular media content college layout is likely to be used by a user; and   causing display of the particular media content collage layout before other media content collage layouts in the one or more media content collage layouts.   
     
     
         15 . An apparatus, comprising: one or more processors; and
 a memory storing instructions, which when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
 select, as a user is selecting two or more media content items among a plurality of media content items, two or more media content collage layouts from a plurality of media content collage layouts, the two or more media content collage layouts dynamically selected based on (i) a quantity of media content items being selected by the user and (ii) a media content type of each of the media content items being selected by the user; 
 dynamically arrange the two or more media content items in each of the two or more media content collage layouts; 
 cause simultaneous display of the two or more media content items arranged in the two or more media content collage layouts; 
 receive a user selection of a media content collage layout in the two or more media content collage layouts; 
 adjust a presentation aspect of one or more of the two or more media content items within the selected media content collage layout; and 
 post the selected media content collage layout to a social networking system. 
   
     
     
         16 . The apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein the media content type is one of an image or video. 
     
     
         17 . The apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein the adjusting the presentation aspect positions a media content item in the media content collage layout to emphasize one or more objects that appear in the media content item. 
     
     
         18 . The apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein the adjusting the presentation aspect further comprises:
 determining a display location of an object within a media content item of the two or more media content items; and   positioning the media content item within the media content collage layout based on the display location of the object.   
     
     
         19 . The apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein the adjusting the presentation aspect further comprises:
 determining a display location of a face within a media content item of the two or more media content items using facial recognition; and   positioning the media content item within the media content collage layout based on the display location of the face.   
     
     
         20 . The apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein the causing display of the two or more media content items arranged in the one or more media content collage layouts further comprises:
 causing display of a suggested media content collage layout before other media content collage layouts in the one or more media content collage layouts.
