Sprinkler system adapters

Abstract

A sprinkler assembly includes a pipe, a sprinkler, and an adapter. The adapter includes an end wall that contacts the pipe, a sprinkler interface extending from the end wall that receives the sprinkler and fluidly couples the sprinkler with the pipe, and a gasket positioned in the sprinkler interface between the sprinkler and the pipe.

         21 . A sprinkler assembly, comprising:
 a sprinkler;   a seal; and   an adapter, comprising: 
 a sprinkler interface, comprising: 
 an aperture to receive the sprinkler; and 
 a groove to receive the seal; and 
 
 a pipe interface coupled with the sprinkler interface, the pipe interface having a cavity to receive a pipe to couple the pipe with the sprinkler, the cavity extending in an opposite direction from a direction by which the aperture receives the sprinkler. 
   
     
     
         22 . The sprinkler assembly of  claim 21 , comprising:
 the sprinkler interface has an outer diameter less than an outer diameter of the pipe.   
     
     
         23 . The sprinkler assembly of  claim 21 , comprising:
 the pipe interface is annular.   
     
     
         24 . The sprinkler assembly of  claim 21 , comprising:
 an outer diameter of the adapter is within a threshold difference of an outer diameter of the pipe.   
     
     
         25 . The sprinkler assembly of  claim 21 , comprising:
 the sprinkler comprises a base having a varying outer diameter.   
     
     
         26 . The sprinkler assembly of  claim 21 , comprising:
 at least a portion of the sprinkler has an outer diameter greater than an inner diameter of the sprinkler interface.   
     
     
         27 . The sprinkler assembly of  claim 21 , comprising:
 the groove is closer to an outlet end of the adapter by which the sprinkler is received than an inlet end of the adapter.   
     
     
         28 . The sprinkler assembly of  claim 21 , comprising:
 a pipe coupling to couple the adapter with the pipe.   
     
     
         29 . The sprinkler assembly of  claim 21 , comprising:
 the adapter is made of steel, copper, or a composite.   
     
     
         30 . The sprinkler assembly of  claim 21 , comprising:
 the pipe interface is to contact the pipe.   
     
     
         31 . A sprinkler adapter, comprising:
 a seal;   a sprinkler interface, comprising: 
 an aperture to receive the sprinkler; and 
 a groove to receive the seal; and 
   a pipe interface coupled with the sprinkler interface, the pipe interface comprising a cavity to receive a pipe to couple the pipe with the sprinkler, the cavity extending in an opposite direction from a direction by which the aperture receives the sprinkler.   
     
     
         32 . The sprinkler adapter of  claim 31 , comprising:
 the sprinkler interface has an outer diameter less than an outer diameter of the pipe.   
     
     
         33 . The sprinkler adapter of  claim 31 , comprising:
 the pipe interface is annular.   
     
     
         34 . The sprinkler adapter of  claim 31 , comprising:
 an outer diameter of the adapter is within a threshold difference of an outer diameter of the pipe.   
     
     
         35 . The sprinkler adapter of  claim 31 , comprising:
 the sprinkler comprises a base having a varying outer diameter.   
     
     
         36 . The sprinkler adapter of  claim 31 , comprising:
 the sprinkler interface has an inner diameter greater than an outer diameter of the sprinkler.   
     
     
         37 . The sprinkler adapter of  claim 31 , comprising:
 the groove is closer to an outlet end of the sprinkler adapter by which the sprinkler is received than an inlet end of the sprinkler adapter.   
     
     
         38 . The sprinkler adapter of  claim 31 , comprising:
 a pipe coupling to couple the sprinkler adapter with the pipe.   
     
     
         39 . The sprinkler adapter of  claim 31 , comprising:
 the sprinkler adapter is made of steel, copper, or a composite.

 the pipe interface is to contact the pipe.
