Abstract
The present specification discloses clonal cell lines susceptible to BoNT/A intoxication, methods of producing such clonal cell lines, and methods of detecting Botulinum toxin serotype A activity using such clonal cell lines.

1 . A cell from an established clonal cell line susceptible to botulinum toxin type A (BoNT/A) intoxication, wherein the cell exhibits an EC50 for BoNT/A activity of 25 pM or less for about 20 or more passages.
2 . The cell of claim 1 , wherein the cell exhibits an EC50 for BoNT/A activity of 0.5 pM or less for about 30 or more passages.
3 . The cell of claim 1 , wherein the cell is a SiMa or Neuro-2a cell.
4 . The cell of claim 1 , wherein the cell is a Neuro-2a cell.
5 . The cell of claim 1 , wherein the cell is susceptible to intoxication by about 100 pM or less of a BoNT/A.
