Abstract
Real-time metadata tracks recorded to media streams allow search and analysis operations in a variety of contexts. Search queries can be performed using information in real-time metadata tracks such as closed captioning, sub-title, statistical tracks, miscellaneous data tracks. Media streams can also be augmented with additional tracks. The metadata tracks not only allow efficient searching and indexing, but also allow insertion of content specific advertising during appropriate portions of a media stream based on the content of the metadata tracks.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . A method comprising:
streaming a media stream to a mobile device from a content server; obtaining at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device by the content server; analyzing the at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device; selecting targeted advertising for the media stream based on the at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device; modifying the media stream at the content server to include the targeted advertising; and transmitting the modified media stream to the mobile device.
22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the at least one or more of the temperature or battery condition of the mobile device is information directed to attributes internal to the mobile device.
23 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the targeted advertising is further selected by using:
closed captioning contents and viewer comments; editorial contents in a metadata track of the media stream; or closed captioning contents, viewer comments, and editorial contents in the metadata track.
24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the media stream is modified in real time.
25 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the media stream is a media clip.
26 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising analyzing a portion of metadata content of the media stream, the portion corresponding to the first ten minutes of the media stream being presented, wherein the selecting the targeted advertising is further based on the analyzed portion of metadata content.
27 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the selected advertising is ordered based on priority.
28 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
indexing the at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device to allow for later retrieval of the at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition, wherein the indexing is performed via entering the at least one of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device into a search engine.
29 . A system comprising:
input/output circuitry configured to:
stream a media stream to a mobile device from a content server; and
control circuitry configured to:
obtain at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device by the content server;
analyze the at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device;
select targeted advertising for the media stream based on the at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device; and
modify the media stream at the content server to include the targeted advertising; and
wherein the input/output circuitry is further configured to:
transmit the modified media stream to the mobile device.
30 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the at least one or more of the temperature or battery condition of the mobile device is information directed to attributes internal to the mobile device.
31 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the targeted advertising is further selected by using:
closed captioning contents and viewer comments; editorial contents in a metadata track of the media stream; or closed captioning contents, viewer comments, and editorial contents in the metadata track.
32 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the media stream is modified in real time.
33 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the media stream is a media clip.
34 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:
analyze a portion of metadata content of the media stream, the portion corresponding to the first ten minutes of the media stream being presented, wherein the selecting the targeted advertising is further based on the analyzed portion of metadata content.
35 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the selected advertising is ordered based on priority.
36 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:
index the at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device to allow for later retrieval of the at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition, wherein the indexing is performed via entering the at least one of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device into a search engine.
37 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions encoded thereon that, when executed by control circuitry, cause the control circuitry to:
stream a media stream to a mobile device from a content server; obtain at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device by the content server; analyze the at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device; select targeted advertising for the media stream based on the at least one or more of a temperature or battery condition of the mobile device; modify the media stream at the content server to include the targeted advertising; and transmit the modified media stream to the mobile device.
38 . The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the at least one or more of the temperature or battery condition of the mobile device is information directed to attributes internal to the mobile device.
39 . The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the targeted advertising is further selected by using:
closed captioning contents and viewer comments; editorial contents in a metadata track of the media stream; or closed captioning contents, viewer comments, and editorial contents in the metadata track.
40 . The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the media stream is modified in real time.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
