Enabling user to user interactions in multi-user video conference applications

Abstract

There are provided systems and methods for enabling user to user interactions in multi-user video conference applications. A user may utilize a computing device to interact with online service providers in order to initiate and/or join a video conference with one or more other users. During the video conference, the user may be provided with options to interact with other users, such as by engaging in electronic transaction processing. When performing such interactions, data for the video conference may be extracted and provided to a transaction processor server. The server may then utilize the data to determine accounts of users within the video conference that may be utilized for electronic transaction processing services. If no account exists, the server may initiate a process to onboard such users. When an account exists, the server may further populate graphical icons that may be used for electronic transaction processing services.

         2 . A system comprising:
 a non-transitory memory; and   one or more hardware processors coupled to the non-transitory memory and configured to read instructions from the non-transitory memory to cause the system to perform operations comprising:
 determining that a first user and a second user are in a video communication session between a first device of the first user and a second device of the second user; 
 determining, based on the video communication session, a first identifier associated with the first user and a second identifier associated with the second user; 
 causing to be displayed, during the video communication session in a first user interface on the first device, an interface icon that enables an electronic transaction processing of transaction data between the first user and the second user during the video communication session; 
 receiving, from the first device using the interface icon, a request for the electronic transaction processing of the transaction data with the second user; and 
 processing, during the video communication session, the transaction data using the first identifier and the second identifier. 
   
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the first user is displayed to the second user and the second user is displayed to the first user during the video communication session. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the determining that the first user and the second user are in the video communication session comprises detecting that the first user and the second user have initiated or are engaged in a video chat based on video data for the video communication session. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the video communication session comprises a third user different from the first user and the second user, and wherein the first user, the second user, and the third user are visible to each other during the video communication session. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the receiving the request comprises receiving a selection of the interface icon on the first device in an interface cell displaying a video of the second user using one of a touch screen input or a mouse movement. 
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the first identifier and the second identifier comprise at least one of a username, an account identifier, an email address, or a phone number, wherein the system further comprises an application programming interface (API) integrated with a video communication application for the video communication session that enables an exchange of API calls for at least a portion of the operations, and wherein the system provides, for the at least the portion of the operations, one of a browser plug-in for a browser application corresponding to the video communication application or a client install software package for the video communication application. 
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein the video communication application comprises a third-party hosted application and the system corresponds to an online transaction processor. 
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein, prior to the processing the transaction data, the operations further comprise:
 determining a first account from the first identifier and a second account from the second identifier,   wherein the processing the transaction data uses the first account and the second account to process one of a transfer or a payment.   
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 transmitting a digital communication associated with the processing the transaction data to at least one of the first user or the second user, wherein the digital communication comprises one of an email, a text message, or an on-screen visual alert within the video communication session.   
     
     
         11 . A method comprising:
 receiving, from a selection of an interface icon in a video chat user interface, a request to process a transaction between a first user and a second user during a video chat in a video chat application;   determining, from the video chat, a first identifier for the first user and a second identifier for the second user utilized for the video chat;   determining that the first identifier corresponds to a first account with an online transaction processor and the second identifier corresponds to a second account with the online transaction processor;   requesting, via the video chat user interface in the video chat application, transaction information for processing the transaction from one of the first user or the second user;   receiving, via an interaction with one of the interface icon or an additional transaction menu icon in the video chat user interface, the transaction information and an approval of the transaction; and   processing, by the online transaction processor independent of the video chat application, the transaction between the first account and the second account.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the video chat comprises a communication session displaying both of the first user and the second user at a same time in corresponding instances of the video chat application executing on devices for the first user and the second user. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein, prior to the receiving the request, the method further comprises:
 detecting an initiation of the video chat; and   causing to be displayed, at least the interface icon in the video chat user interface.   
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 13 , further comprising:
 extracting the first identifier and the second identifier from data for the video chat,   and wherein the causing to be displayed is responsive to the extracting.   
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 14 , wherein the first identifier is preregistered with the first account with the online transaction processor for electronic transaction processing through the video chat application and the second identifier is preregistered with the second account with the online transaction processor for electronic transaction processing through the video chat application. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein, prior to the determining that the first identifier corresponds to the first account and the second identifier corresponds to the second account, the method further comprises:
 determining that at least one of the first identifier or the second identifier does not have a corresponding linked account; and   requesting one of an account linking or an account setup for the at least one of the first identifier or the second identifier that does not have the corresponding linked account.   
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the processing the transaction comprises requesting and receiving an authentication from at least one of the first user or the second user during the video chat, and wherein the authentication requires a login by the at least one of the first user or the second user to a corresponding one of the first account or the second account. 
     
     
         18 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium having stored thereon machine-readable instructions executable to cause a machine to perform operations comprising:
 detecting, on a first device of a first user, an initiation of a video chat between the first user and a second user in a video chat application on the first device;   determining, from the video chat, a first identifier of the first user and a second identifier of the second user;   determining, based on the first identifier and the second identifier; that transaction processing for an electronic transaction is available from an online transaction processor during the video chat;   causing to be displayed, in a user interface for the video chat in the video chat application on the first device, an interface icon that indicates, to the first user, that the online transaction processor is available for processing the electronic transaction with the second user;   receiving, from the first device, an interaction with the interface icon during the video chat, wherein the interaction comprises a request to process the electronic transaction between the first user and the second user; and   processing, by the online transaction processor, the electronic transaction during the video chat using the first identifier and the second identifier.   
     
     
         19 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 18 , wherein the determining the first identifier and the second identifier comprises accessing the first identifier and the second identifier from preregistrations of the first identifier and the second identifier with the online transaction processor for transaction processing in the video chat application. 
     
     
         20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 18 , wherein the electronic transaction comprises one of a transfer between known users for the first user and the second user or a payment from the first user to a merchant or a service provider corresponding to the second user. 
     
     
         21 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 18 , wherein at least the second user is displayed to the first user and at least the first user is displayed to the second user during the video chat and the processing the electronic transaction, and wherein the interface icon is displayed is correspondence with the second user in the user interface.
