Abstract

A method for manufacturing an edible, multi-ring, can holder comprises the steps of dehydrating beer by-product to produce a dried pulp, grinding the dried pulp into a powder, forming a pulp slurry by adding the powder into a mixture comprising plant fibers, an environment-friendly, oil-repellent chemical, an environment-friendly, water-repellent chemical, and water, a water-to-other ingredient ratio being approximately 1000 liters of water to approximately 60 kg of the powder, the plant fibers, the oil-repellent chemical, and the water-repellent chemical, injecting the pulp slurry into a mold having an interior cavity in the shape of at least one six-pack ring, and applying pressure and heat to the mold containing the pulp slurry to produce at least one edible six-pack ring.

1 . A method for manufacturing an edible multi-ring can holder consisting of biodegradable materials, comprising:
 forming a pulp slurry comprising:
 dried and ground beer by-product, 
 plant fibers, 
 an environment-friendly, water-repellent chemical; and 
 water; and 
   injecting the pulp slurry into a mold having an interior cavity in the shape of at least one multi-ring can holder; and   applying pressure and heat to the mold containing the pulp slurry to produce at least one edible multiring can holder from only biodegradable materials; and   wherein each can opening comprises a partial dome with a continuous ring-shape having an inner circumference adapted to capture a top portion of a beverage can and releasably secure the beverage can.   
     
     
         2 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the beer by-product comprises one or more of barley, wheat, corn, rice, rye, and oat. 
     
     
         3 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the plant fibers comprise one or more of wheat straw, bamboo, sugar cane, and  miscanthus.    
     
     
         4 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the pulp slurry further comprise an environment-friendly oil-repellent chemical. 
     
     
         5 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising the step of disinfecting the multi-ring can holder. 
     
     
         6 . A method for manufacturing an edible multi-ring can holder consisting of biodegradable materials, comprising:
 forming a pulp slurry comprising:
 dried and ground beer by-product, 
 plant fibers, 
 an environment-friendly, water-repellent chemical; and 
 water; and 
   injecting the pulp slurry into a mold having an interior cavity in the shape of at least one multi-ring can holder; and   applying pressure and heat to the mold containing the pulp slurry to produce at least one edible multiring can holder from only biodegradable materials; and   wherein the can-holder comprises a reinforcing wall around the entirety of its perimeter.   
     
     
         7 . The method according to  claim 6 , wherein the beer by-product comprises one or more of barley, wheat, corn, rice, rye, and oat. 
     
     
         8 . The method according to  claim 6 , wherein the plant fibers comprise one or more of wheat straw, bamboo, sugar cane, and  miscanthus.    
     
     
         9 . The method according to  claim 6 , wherein the pulp slurry further comprises an environment-friendly oil-repellent chemical. 
     
     
         10 . The method according to  claim 6 , further comprising the step of disinfecting the multi-ring can holder. 
     
     
         11 . An edible multi-ring can holder made of only biodegradable materials, comprising:
 dried and ground beer by-product,   plant fibers, and   an environment-friendly, water-repellent chemical; and   wherein each can opening comprises a partial dome with a continuous ring-shape having an inner circumference adapted to capture a top portion of a beverage can and releasably secure the beverage can.   
     
     
         12 . The edible biodegradable multi-ring can-holder of  claim 11  wherein the beer by-product comprises one or more of barley, wheat, corn, rice, rye, and oat. 
     
     
         13 . The edible biodegradable multi-ring can-holder of  claim 11  wherein the plant fibers comprise one or more of wheat straw, bamboo, sugar cane, and  miscanthus.    
     
     
         14 . The edible biodegradable multi-ring can-holder of  claim 11  wherein the plant fibers comprise a mixture of at least two of wheat straw, bamboo, sugar cane, and  miscanthus.    
     
     
         15 . The edible biodegradable multi-ring can-holder of  claim 11  wherein the biodegradable materials further comprise an environment-friendly oil-repellent chemical. 
     
     
         16 . An edible multi-ring can holder made of only biodegradable materials, comprising:
 dried and ground beer by-product,   plant fibers, and   an environment-friendly, water-repellent chemical; and   wherein the can-holder comprises a reinforcing wall around the entirety of its perimeter.   
     
     
         17 . The edible biodegradable multi-ring can-holder of  claim 16  wherein the beer by-product comprises one or more of barley, wheat, corn, rice, rye, and oat. 
     
     
         18 . The edible biodegradable multi-ring can-holder of  claim 16  wherein the plant fibers comprise one or more of wheat straw, bamboo, sugar cane, and  miscanthus.    
     
     
         19 . The edible biodegradable multi-ring can-holder of  claim 16  wherein the plant fibers comprise a mixture of at least two of wheat straw, bamboo, sugar cane, and  miscanthus.    
     
     
         20 . The edible biodegradable multi-ring can-holder of  claim 16  wherein the biodegradable materials further comprise an environment-friendly oil-repellent chemical.
