Abstract

A secure outdoor storage system comprising: i) a container configured to receive and hold a delivered item; ii) a lid coupled to the container and configured to cover an opening of the container; and ii) a base on which the container is securely mounted. The base is configured to be securely connected to a structure. The secure outdoor storage system further comprises iv) a electronic locking mechanism; and v) an electronic control module for controlling the opening and closing of the lid.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A secure outdoor storage system comprising:
 a container configured to receive and to hold a delivered item;   a lid coupled to the container and configured to cover an opening of the container;   a base on which the container is securely mounted, the base configured to be securely connected to a structure;   a electronic locking mechanism; and   an electronic control module for controlling the opening and closing of the lid.   
     
     
         2 . The secure outdoor storage system as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the control module is configured to open and close the locking mechanism.
