Abstract

A portable thermal insulated apparatus for cooling or heating items stored therein. The thermal insulated apparatus includes a container having a lid that removably secures to an open first end thereof and a reservoir unit that removably secures to an open second end. The container includes an inner tube and an outer tube forming an insulated double-wall sealed at both ends in which the lid and reservoir unit can be connected thereto. The reservoir unit removably receives a thermal unit that provides cooling or heating to the contents of the container when affixed thereto. The thermal unit is separable from the reservoir unit, such that the thermal units are interchangeable as needed. In some embodiments, the thermal unit is directly securable to the lid and the second end of the container is permanently sealed.

Claims

2 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the reservoir unit comprises a centrally disposed recess formed by a sidewall extending annularly about a base, the recess is configured to receive the thermal unit therein.

3 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the sidewall includes a reservoir fastener disposed on an exterior side thereof, wherein the reservoir fastener is configured to threadedly secure to the container and form a seal therewith.

4 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the sidewall is entirely disposed within the container when the reservoir unit is affixed thereto.

5 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the thermal unit comprises a phase change material disposed therein and adapted to transition from a first state to a second state, wherein thermal energy is exothermic or endothermic.

6 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the thermal unit is inaccessible when the reservoir unit is secured to the second end of the container.

7 . A portable thermal insulated apparatus, comprising:
a container having an open first end and a second end forming an interior, wherein the container is configured to store fluid within the interior; a lid removably securable to the open first end of the container, a thermal unit removably securable to an interior side of the lid, wherein the thermal unit remains suspended within the container from the interior of the lid when the lid is secured to the container; wherein the thermal unit is configured to maintain the interior of the container at a desired temperature; an open section formed between the thermal unit, when the lid is secured to the container, and the second end of the container configured to receive a fluid storage bottle.

8 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the thermal unit comprises a channel extending therethrough and a phase change material disposed within the thermal unit, wherein the phase change material is configured to cool the interior of the container and any liquid as it passes through the channel.

9 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the channel is substantially linear to receive a straw therethrough.

10 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 7 , further comprising the fluid storage bottle having a bottle cap configured to removably cover an opening of the fluid storage bottle, wherein the fluid storage bottle is configured to hold fluid therein and dimensioned to be received within the interior such that the fluid storage bottle is positioned within the interior of the container and vertically aligned with the thermal unit when secured to the lid and the lid is secured to the container.

11 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the lid comprises an interior wall and the thermal unit secures to an interior side of the interior wall of the lid, wherein the thermal unit remains suspended from the lid along the interior side of the interior sidewall when the lid is secured to the container.

12 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 7 , wherein a gap is formed between a sidewall of the thermal unit and a sidewall of the container, wherein the gap is substantially a width of a thickness of a sidewall of the lid.

13 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 7 , further comprising a temperature sensor disposed within the container and a wireless transmitter configured to transmit a temperature of the interior of the container to an electronic device.

14 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 14 , further comprising an application disposed on the electronic device configured to alert a user if the temperature detected by the temperature sensor falls outside of a desired threshold range.

15 . The portable thermal insulated apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the thermal unit is readily separable from the lid and interchangeable with a second thermal unit.
