Abstract
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for surveillance with security camera drone. In some implementations, a determination is made to begin surveillance of an in-house service with a drone. A duration of the in-house service is determined. A location to land the drone during the in-house service is determined based on the duration of the in-house service. Landing of the drone is initiated at the determined location.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:

21 . A system comprising one or more computers and one or more storage devices on which are stored instructions that are operable, when executed by the one or more computers, to cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:
determining, while a drone that includes one or more sensors is monitoring an entity at a property, whether one or more landing parameters for the drone satisfy one or more landing criteria that, when satisfied, cause generation, using at least some of the one or more landing parameters, of an instruction to cause the drone to land while continuing to monitor the entity; and in response to determining that the one or more landing parameters for the drone do not satisfy the one or more landing criteria, determining to skip sending, using any of the one or more landing parameters, an instruction to cause the drone to land while continuing to monitor the entity.
22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein determining to skip sending, using any of the one or more landing parameters, an instruction to cause the drone to land while continuing to monitor the entity comprises determining to skip a determination, using any of the one or more landing parameters and data for the entity at the property, of a location at which the drone should land to continue monitoring the entity.
23 . The system of claim 21 , the operations comprising:
determining a time at which the entity will likely arrive at the property; determining, using the time at which the entity will likely arrive at the property, whether the drone should dock prior to the arrival of the entity; and in response to determining that the drone should dock prior to the arrival of the entity, sending, to a component of the drone, an instruction to cause the drone to dock prior to the arrival of the entity.
24 . The system of claim 23 , wherein determining whether the drone should dock prior to the arrival of the entity uses a battery level of the drone.
25 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the one or more landing parameters include a proximity of the drone to a landing location.
26 . The system of claim 21 , wherein determining whether the one or more landing parameters satisfy the one or more landing criteria comprises determining, while the drone that is monitoring the entity at the property, whether a proximity to a landing site for the drone to the entity satisfies the one or more landing criteria that, when satisfied, cause generation, using at least some of the one or more landing parameters, of an instruction to cause the drone to land while continuing to monitor the entity.
27 . The system of claim 21 , wherein determining to skip sending, using any of the one or more landing parameters, an instruction to cause the drone to land while continuing to monitor the entity comprises determining to skip a determination of a location at which the drone should land to continue monitoring the entity using one or more of a current location of the drone, a current location of the entity, or the drone's view of the entity using at least one of the one or more sensors.
28 . The system of claim 21 , the operations comprising:
determining whether to land the drone at a charging location or a non-charging location using a battery level of the drone; and determining a landing location at which to land the drone while the entity is at the property using a result of the determination to land the drone at the non-charging location using the battery level of the drone.
29 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the one or more landing parameters include a predicted field of view of a sensor included in the drone while at a landing location.
30 . The system of claim 29 , wherein determining whether the one or more landing parameters satisfy the one or more landing criteria comprises determining whether a landing location is predicted to maintain the entity in the predicted field of view of the sensor included in the drone.
31 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the one or more landing parameters include a predicted activity of the entity at the property.
32 . A method comprising:
determining, while a drone that includes one or more sensors is monitoring an entity at a property, whether one or more landing parameters for the drone satisfy one or more landing criteria that, when satisfied, cause generation, using at least some of the one or more landing parameters, of an instruction to cause the drone to land while continuing to monitor the entity; and in response to determining that the one or more landing parameters for the drone do not satisfy the one or more landing criteria, determining to skip sending, using any of the one or more landing parameters, an instruction to cause the drone to land while continuing to monitor the entity.
33 . The method of claim 32 , wherein determining to skip sending, using any of the one or more landing parameters, an instruction to cause the drone to land while continuing to monitor the entity comprises determining to skip a determination, using any of the one or more landing parameters and data for the entity at the property, of a location at which the drone should land to continue monitoring the entity.
34 . The method of claim 32 , comprising:
determining a time at which the entity will likely arrive at the property; determining, using the time at which the entity will likely arrive at the property, whether the drone should dock prior to the arrival of the entity; and in response to determining that the drone should dock prior to the arrival of the entity, sending, to a component of the drone, an instruction to cause the drone to dock prior to the arrival of the entity.
35 . The method of claim 34 , wherein determining whether the drone should dock prior to the arrival of the entity uses a battery level of the drone.
36 . The method of claim 32 , wherein determining whether the one or more landing parameters satisfy the one or more landing criteria comprises determining, while the drone that is monitoring the entity at the property, whether a proximity to a landing site for the drone to the entity satisfies the one or more landing criteria that, when satisfied, cause generation, using at least some of the one or more landing parameters, of an instruction to cause the drone to land while continuing to monitor the entity.
37 . The method of claim 32 , wherein determining to skip sending, using any of the one or more landing parameters, an instruction to cause the drone to land while continuing to monitor the entity comprises determining to skip a determination of a location at which the drone should land to continue monitoring the entity using one or more of a current location of the drone, a current location of the entity, or the drone's view of the entity using at least one of the one or more sensors.
38 . The method of claim 32 , comprising:
determining whether to land the drone at a charging location or a non-charging location using a battery level of the drone; and determining a landing location at which to land the drone while the entity is at the property using a result of the determination to land the drone at the non-charging location using the battery level of the drone.
39 . The method of claim 32 , wherein determining whether the one or more landing parameters satisfy the one or more landing criteria comprises determining whether a landing location is predicted to maintain the entity in a predicted field of view of a sensor included in the drone.
40 . One or more non-transitory computer storage media encoded with instructions that, when executed by one or more computers, cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:
determining, while a drone that includes one or more sensors is monitoring an entity at a property, whether one or more landing parameters for the drone satisfy one or more landing criteria that, when satisfied, cause generation, using at least some of the one or more landing parameters, of an instruction to cause the drone to land while continuing to monitor the entity; and in response to determining that the one or more landing parameters for the drone do not satisfy the one or more landing criteria, determining to skip sending, using any of the one or more landing parameters, an instruction to cause the drone to land while continuing to monitor the entity.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
